Our spy photographers have managed to catch yet another Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing undergoing testing in Germany.

Although this particular prototype is still heavily camouflaged, we can see some new details including the SLS' side mirrors which feature integrated turn signals. Unlike the white SLS prototype that was spotted earlier, this grey model has lost some of its camouflage which allows us to get a better glimpse of the SL-inspired headlights and clear taillights. Our keen-eyed observers will also notice that we can see the car's aggressive rear diffuser peeking through a mesh screen. While our spies didn't get close enough to catch the SLS' interior, Mercedes has already released several pictures of the car's cabin.

Essentially a replacement for Mercedes-McLaren SLR, the new SLS AMG Gullwing features a massive 6.2-liter V8 engine with 571 hp (420 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. This will enable the supercar to rocket from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph).

Look for the SLS AMG Gullwing to be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Automakers need to be open to criticism, and need to stop camouflaging their road tests.

It's a prototype, they camouflage it so people don't know what it will look like until the car is officialy launched, and so that the chinese don't copy it and sell something really crappy that resembles it.

Camouflage isn't about avoiding criticism. It's the keep the styling a secret until the launch, both to maintain the excitement for marketing purposes and to prevent competitors from copying them before their own car hits the market.

I am 6ft2 and I am praying that I fit and its a comfortable car to own, Thats what stopped me from buying an SLR they are like a coffin inside once you close the door or the convert you cant have the top down 24/7 so I pray that I will be parking it my garage this coming year.

the 6.2L v8 in this will sound better than the SLR, i have hear a E63 and a E55 and the 63 is alot louder, i love thae way that this will still keep up with and SLR to 60mph and wht did mercedes limit the top speed to 196mph (so close to 200mph). i think this is goin to look great, cant wait to see it and see a top gear review
