New Dacia SUV spied uncovered

Fans of the Dacia brand will be pleased to know that the small Dacia SUV is on the way. Judging from these spy pictures of the car completely uncovered it seems to be production-ready. A previous report suggested that the vehicle would not only use many of the same components but would also take on a notable resemblance to the Nissan Qashqai. That report appears to have been somewhat accurate. Not only is the cousin Qashqai there but others like the X-Trail and the Pathfinder have inspired the front end and the rear windshield designs respectively.

Funny enough a story out of Romania claimed the Dacia SUV would be based on an X-Trail platform, have the group 1.5dCi engine making 105hp (77kW) and 240Nm, and be as long as the Duster. That story was accompanied by highly suspicious pictures of a supposed production version Duster.

Dacia unveiled the Duster concept car at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March. It was a radical three-door car with a raised ride height, high-mounted side mirrors and wraparound rear lights. Sadly this uncovered model bears no significant exterior resemblance to the 4.25m long Duster. Dimension-wise as well it looks about the size of a five-seater Qashqai.

the car is not so bad like the logan and sandero, but the back it looks like pathfinder from nissan, but the front look like mitsubishi pajero (montero in spain) old version, i like the car the price will be good and it´s not so bad, i hope the interior will be good because dacia cars have a big problem for me the interior are very ugly, well not ugly but to simple. they can do good interior and the car still chip... because dacia isn´t the worst cars in the market. look LADA so many years in the market and still ugly...

I agree with U the car is not a looker..but guess what? While GM and Chrysler struggles with bancrupcy, Dacia actually hired workers and more than that is considered actually Renault's lifesaver..so, muck off!

Valimiu That is because America make dodgey cars, no one wants them.

well, maybe that'll work for emerging markets... to me, that thing looks like a blend of all nissan sport utilities from the nineties, from the terrano to the pathfinder to the patrol. it's not that i hate it, but its design, particularly its front end, is so... dated. at least that is one tough looking mini-suv, which is rare, isn't it?

Haha, this has saved the X1 from being the ugliest off roader of all time. Go Dacia.... not.

it's not pretty , but it looks better than anything Japanese on the market. if priced well this could be another success for Renault.

Don't you find it funny that the fans of this brand are saying that they will never buy one?

what a hell? i'm read here so much "crap", since when dacia is better that any japanese SUV, or an american SUV... the strongest and hardest allroads ever are in america, ok it couldn't be the best design for most of the people in europe, but never compares a american or japanese SUV with a european and when i say EUROPEAN, means renault, peugeot, citroen, seat... because BMW, MERCEDES, AUDI are expensive cars, are not in the same level than the others.... the car looks nice, but don't have the look our the quality or style than a american our japanese SUV....

P.S. look the peugeot 4008 ( hope the model is not wrong) is a mitsubishi work....

Dacia fans??? You ment Renault fans :). This car is not a good looker, but I can't wait the prices and the specifications. I don't know how many of you had the chance to drive one, but they are not so bad.
