I like the headlights and overall proportions (excluding too dominant kidney grille), but is this really necessary - in my opinion (unfortunately) it is just a chubby 3-series

Wow. They got this one right. the old 3 was too tiny, this give you a nice profile, 7-series styling, and some substance. The front enddesign seems appropriately complex for a high end car.
I like how the bmw door wedge isn't angled like MB's, the designs are always more balanced.

Words like chubby, melted, bloated, slow... come to mind whenever I see new beemers, except for the new Z4. The new design language reminds me of the mid 90s

I think it’s too much! They should keep with the models they already have. BMW don’t go after Mercedes with all it’s a, b, c, d… classes you won’t win that much from the market you’ll lose sales from your models which till now did well and u earned profit not for creating useless new cars but for improving the existing ones!

I agree, i don't know what the purpose all these funny models is but the sad thing is that people are actually gonna buy it

you see, i'm not quite a fan of bimmers as for the late, but that rendering kind of works for me. if not exceptionally handsome, at least it looks purposeful and even somewhat menacing. quite probably the first 'bmw design' (i know, it's not bavarian made) i've taken a second look at, since they showed the world the 6 series. yeah... that's kind of hot.

"Power will come from the 3-Series' extensive lineup of engines but, thankfully, no M3 version appears to be planned."

Another pointless car from BMW, if they concentrated their effots into making their core products "desirable" all this frippery wouldn't be needed.
Is it just me or does the 5 GT look like the Ssangyong Stavic/Rodius a bit??

That back is so disgusting, I mean come on BMW! What is it with all these ugly designs, I think the real BMW has disappeared, the one that gave us better designs than this...
