Jaguar has released a teaser video that reveals details about the new XJ's aluminum construction.

According to Jaguar's vehicle line director, Mick Mohan, "...aluminum is the perfect material..." because it reduces weight while providing the strength and stiffness the XJ needs.

Although the video only shows an overhead view of the upcoming luxury sedan, Jaguar has announced the new XJ will offer class-leading fuel consumption and best in class CO2 emissions. A notable achievement considering engine options include a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 with 510 bhp and 625 Nm of torque.

Look for the 2010 XJ to be officially unveiled on July 9, with deliveries scheduled to begin later this year.

Hope Jaguar does well with this.

Think the reason Jaguar failed in the USA under FORD ownership was because they priced it too high.

Normally a 40k GBP car costs $40k in the USA. (unfair but that's the way it goes!) Ford were pricing them for $80k...

Not $80K.

The outgoing XJ's starting price in the US is $65,700 for the standard V8 model.
