The current DCT transmission offered is only in the E90 M3 the E60 M5 still uses a sequential manual transmission and both the M3 and M5 transmissions are 7 speeds not 8 speeds.
It would be nice if the M5 incorporated some sort of KERS system and was lighter, you wouldnt really need more power if they optimized the weight of the vehicle.

Adding two more cylinders to that 4.4L V8 in the X6M? That will likely produce more than 600bhp!!!

Why don't you just go drive your Honda, Sata?
BMW is the symbol of quality and performance in automotive industry. If this is hard to enderstand for you then you probably can't even find any difference between a car and a donkey. lol.

i know your only 10 years old now, but when you grow up you will learn to understand more about cars, appreciate technological advancements and what KERS even stands for. useless comment. grow up or atleast educate yourself with basics.

of course it won`t rev, cos' it's a forced induction engine and thats better, more torque and better sound in my opinion, deep sound!!! ohh and the most important, that's why it's more economical, useable, faster..etc.

I hope they will ditch sequential manual gearbox, as it was a piece of crap anywhere, but during track use. Double Clutch gearboxes are much, much better, but 8-speed? come on! Who needs that much?
And I think they will go with the V8 from X5M.

its for the emission laws... so they can drive the car out on highways in 8th and produce some amazing fuel consumption + Co2 emissions numbers! but your right, no one really does need this! haha

that front bumper gives you +5% street cred based on your respect level.

ppl won't care how good the engine is unless the new 5 have the look to match with, but according to the recent design trend of BMW (new 7, X1, 5GT...) I think they are going to mess it up again. Furthermore, I believe BMW will use the V8-TT of X5M instead due to the economy of scale.

I agree. A good engine does not make up for a car that people find ugly and tends to reject. I will reserve my judgement on the coming X1 (although the trends are not looking positive),the front of the 7 is just ghastly and I cannot imagine anyone who finds it attractive. The design language should be sleek and modern. Not bug eyes and pig nostrils! The more I think about this the more I want to punch some sense out of these idiotic designers! Especially that Adrian VH who tends to be attracted to "pig Nostrils" and incorporate them into BMW's face.

i'd like to see the gearbox go back and a 5.5 liter 600hp aluminium bodied M5!!!

Sata sounds like a 7 year old sissy girl who is just learning how to write and read. Just take it easy on her. Not only she doesn't know what KERS stands for, she also doesn't know how to spell BMW. She called it BMX. LMAO. :)))))))))))))
