Our spy photographers have once again managed to catch Peugeot's upcoming 308 RC-Z coupe undergoing testing in Europe.

Unlike the black RC-Z prototype we brought you earlier, these new pictures reveal more details about the car's overall shape as well as its retractable rear wing. Design wise, the production model appears virtually identical to the 308 RC-Z Concept that first appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007. The small patch of camouflage on the roof even suggests that a version of the concept's "double bubble" roof may be destined for production.

Expected to be launched in 2010, the RC-Z will come equipped with several of the 308's more powerful engines including a possible high performance unit with 250hp (184kW).

Although Peugeot hasn't announced when the car will be officially unveiled, timing seems to suggest that it could make an appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Like I said before, it is a pretty peugoet, but I think it is a challenge to step up to other rivals like The TT 2.0 and Scirocco. Good luck is all I can say.

I think the side profile of this car looks dorky. The cab is too far forward and the rear looks like somebody accidentally stepped on it. Bottom line is, the rear end is too long for a FWD car.

Is it me or this car looks pretty much the same with the TT MK1 ? IF they want to make a TT wannabe car, i think they might get some bad signals from the market. A man who wants a TT will buy one, not a car that looks the same. And, finally, i think it would have a big price tag .. like the 308 CC has now, so why somebody should pay the same ammount for a SLK, TT, Scirocco or new Z4 to an improoved 308 CC?

Good luck Peugeot, you have great designers and good looking cars, but i don't get what is the target for this one?!

the back end of this car looks like it came off from a mid-engined car

Looks a bit like a MINI R8! I do agree the rear end is a bit long, but it's not that bad since it has little overhang. Give it a AWD drive train too, if they want to come up over TT's!

the trunk is allmost as long as the bonnet, why not make the bonnet longer, and remove the rearseats.
