Japanese tuners Mugen are readying a new launch for the European market.  The company plans to introduce the Mugen Honda Civic Type-R 3D there sometime this summer.

The Euro-spec Mugen Type-R uses a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine that gets a minimum 200 horsepower.  However, previous speculation has the engine generating as much as 240 hp for the front-wheel drive car.  Drivers take control by way of a six-speed manual gearbox.

Mugen has significantly altered the look of this car, using a carbon-fiber aero kit to punctuate the change.  The new front bumper, with a front lip and blacked-out grille built-in, leads back to wider fenders with integrated air-vents.  A new hood has twin-scoops on either side of a raised mid-section.  Following the redesigned sideskirts to the back leads us to a custom built rear-apron, diffuser, and dual exhaust.  Mugen used a gunmetal alloy wheel that matches some of the body work.

Looking at this car and the UK model side-by-side, we notice several alterations.  For one, the Euro-spec model has a larger rear wing, and redesigned rear bumper with changes to the tailpipes.  The front-end also appears to have some minor cosmetic changes.

If pricing matches the recently detailed UK-spec Type R, this car could cost anywhere from €40,000, up to a rather steep €50,000.  We should find out more about the Mugen Honda Civic Type-R 3D in the near future.

"I'm sure the rear visibility will be even worse than the normal Type-R, who cares?" right until the moment you smash something behind you

I love the shopping cart handle they glued onto the rear window. Is that for pushing the car along when its broken down??

Bodykit looks awesome, but that rear spoiler is a tad over the top for a hatchback. The stock one would suit it perfectly.

why just not use the "devil-horn" rear spoiler?

Be glad your version has the spoiler where it is meant to be. On the saloon's boot, not on the rear window.

The FN chassis tends to have a light rear-end at higher speeds, so there's a need for such a big spoiler imo, it's not there for looks.

as much as I like the interior and front of this car, the back end really needs a good make up. seriously. michael jackson style. triangular exhaust looked better and so much different than these regular ones. is this like an efficiency thing or just visual i wonder. +the rims don't look that nice. what's this car for anyways. japan typeR looks much much better and i'm sure handles much much better. instead continue s2000 production!

£35,000!!!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!? Are they utterly insane? You can get a 2nd hand E90 M3 for that money! A 300bhp Focus RS is £27k fully loaded, so i'll have an RS, and an £8k track car please...

WOW Way too expensive. For that money i would buy an FQ400 and destroy this car in every aspect.

I would never buy the piece of crap for more than $20K and they want $50K. i wish i could see those mugen/honda bosses to beat them with a stick for this mockery of a sports car.

Open the doors at 80mph and it might be able to fly.
