Your screen does not need adjustment, nor is the picture out of focus. The image of the white BMW X1 which you are obviously so deeply focused on is blurred by design. It's part of yet another teasing game by BMW to build hype around the company's newest and smallest SUV. Websites like FaceBook have been used to drum up support with the target market which consists mainly of young people.

After plenty of spy pictures and official teaser images and videos the X1 will finally make a splash into the European market this autumn. Power will come from petrol and turbo diesel engines with horsepower figures of up to 204.

Wait for the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show for some face time. Full clear frontal shots will probably become available some time before then. And by that we mean shots of the car.

How smaller is this than the X3. And how cheaper would it be than the X3. I think BMW and Audi(Q3)are dividing up the section in too many slices.... and that is bringing the models too close to differentiate. May be there is a market, may be not, but look at what happened to BMW 1 series in USA. When the next X3 comes, it will be bigger than the current model and increase the gap between X1 and X3 but that would make X3 closer to X5 in size. Bottom line, I think two models in the SUV/SAV range were more than enough. X1 will eat into X3 sales for now. Ann then there is X6 vs. upcoming 5 series gran turismo vs. 5 series wagon. WHY?? Look at what happened to X6. All 20,000 initial copies were booked in advance but many of them ended up being not sold or resold, some as used cars at auctions. I test drove one and it felt like driving the new X5 albeit it felt like someone crashed on the car's roof and it compressed.

I think that looks good and is nice and curvaceous and would definitely qualify as a head turner.

The X1 on the other hand is just another BMW SUV which I have thought of as bordering on the superflurous. No doubt it will be dynamically sound, be of a high quality and expensive but I find it a model quite difficult to be excited about. The LF-A elsewhere on this site however... that will do nicely thank you.

I guess the model range will like that.The X1 is replacer of that we calling X3.and the x3 badge will be the 3rd series Allroad version like Audi A4 allroad.That my word

A little too much black plastic, or is this an attempt to make it look butch? This appears to be a t_ts out, as_ up version. The base model can't be good.

I still don't see where the X1 will come into the BMW Range...will the X3 be eliminated? On the other hand, the car does look good, and I am sure it will handle and feel just like a BMW should, yet I still fail to see the point of this car. Most of BMW's latest cars, in my opinion, (X6, 5 series GT, and now X1), seem pointless, although this might just be my opinion...also I must admit I don't like how all the models are starting to look the same!

I think this replaces the current X3, the next X3 will replace the first-gen X5, and the X5 upsizes (7 seats) -- that way the X1, X3 and X5 line up against the GLK, ML and GL, which makes perfect sense -- BMW exist to compete with Merc.

As for the 5 Series GT, it makes much more sense if you just think of it (or if they'd badged it) as a 7 Series Touring -- it's larger than the 5 Series and uses the 7 Series engines. The X6 is just a 6 Series with the high driving position a lot of people like.

Make it any easier? ;) And btw, I like the look of this X1 a lot.

it looks ok... i just think it's pointless, I mean, how will this be priced, they can't go to low because it will be un BMW like, but they can't price it to high because it will cut into the X3... I just don't get the point of this car.

This picture says a lot. To me it says bmw know how badly the screwed up that they blurred out the car and added some hot girl in a bikini to make people to look at the pic. I am a bmw fan but the new z4, X1 and 5 GT are just at their bottom list of success. (If u don’t count Z1)
