This is an artist's representation of what the Skoda Octavia Mk3 could look like.  The current editon has been on the road since 2004, with a facelift out in 2009.  Sharing the same platform as the VW Golf Mk5, the second generation car received a good deal of buzz, particularly because engineers managed to improve rear passenger space, and increase clearance, effectively addressing two of the car's most annoying aspects.

Even though the Octavia was already Skoda's most successful vehicle, the company still wheeled out a bundle of improvements for the facelift, including a new engine and transmission choice, in addition to the car's new styling.

Nonetheless, fans of the car are certainly eager to see what the Czech automaker has up their sleeves for the third generation car.  Expected to be based on the same platform used by the new Volkswagen Golf Mk6, the next Octavia could grow in size like its VW cousin.

Here, the artist has taken inspiration from the Skoda Joyster concept, introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 2006.  The artist used the same dark-background headlamps from the Joyster, and keeping the shape of the lights in place.  In the rendering, you also notice a front fascia that combines the top half of the current Octavia with the Joyster's wider grille, spoiler, and thin-strip fog lights.  The drawing also shows a car with a lower roofline, giving the extended body a more muscular stance.

It´s a faceliftet Superb, but nothing else! BTW: The Superb has got a nice front, but the rest of this car is ugly. Superb MK1 was pretty nice!

it`s pretty much a redone superb with a nose job. i like it, but i guess there's no way it's becoming the new octavia.

it's way better than the current one, at least.

Agree with the guys here, it's more likely to be a Superb facelift draft... BUT mr Skoda please redesign these rear door windows, it's so ugly.

No way man ... they CAN'T do this ugly project the O3 !!! Avarvarii has talent but he had a dream about the Superb and designed the "new" Octavia exactly after that?? They ruined the Fabia brand with the "new" and so UGLY 2, i really hope they don't want to kill the good looks of the Octavia too by making it a Superb wannabe ! PS - The actual Superb is also ugly, this sketch should be used by Skoda for the actual Superb.
