this is just too expensive... why not spend that money on a used 1-2 year old S2000.

How is it more practical, they took the rear seats out. So now they are both 2 seaters.

This should have been the standard version.
Will this one have the same shoddy handling?

it does say sports suspension... don't know if that means if the entire rear suspension's been replaced. i think originally the FN2 type R was going to have double wishbone but was replaced with torsion beams to lower costs and complexity.

lol @blav... you've memorised that top gear episode didn't ya? hehe... (wishbone)

I guess this civic is not going to make it to North American. I have never seen a Civic in that body style either, Ours dont have that chopped rear end.

It's the European Civic made in Swindon in the UK. There are already Mugen versions of the "bootedd" Civic (which we don't get) available on the Japanese market.

Aww yeah, a 240bhp Mugen Civic is bound to be awesome! There are just too many interesting Hot hatches these days. The Astra VXR, Focus RS, Scirocco R, Megane RS, and now this. Er, what's up with the price tag? for 40k, I could get an Evo X with 100bhp more.

I want to know how is this car stock or this mugen version compared to EP3 Type R
June 15, 2009 6:27 pm
heya fujiturbo
in terms of engine, there's not much difference. same two litre. same bore/stroke. the only big whinge is the suspension. The EP3 used independent suspension ( macpherson struts i think) and the FN2 uses torsion beam. Top gear did a review and comparison between the two. Season 10 Episode 6. Fifth gear probably did too but i don't watch 5th gear... oh and EP3 is lighter

Price aside, man, the Type-R line has come a long way since the late 90's. The quality of the materials has vastly improved.

This is outstanding, and a bargain at $40K. It is better looking than a F430 and if you press the gas hard enough, it can take a porsche GT3 in the 1/4 mile (maybe not a GT2 though).
Fishes,
Narco.
