Much nicer than current offerings of GM and Chrysler. Hope there will be passenger version soon.

For me, it's just ugly, economical, euro-styling vehicle. It has nothing better, except "MPG", than Chevy Malibu, Dodge Charger, Ford Crown Victoria, etc. These are classic, beautiful cars "with soul" and fit great to American Police. I can't imagine real "cop" in pseudo Lancer with diesel...

Agree with Kuba (except the bit about the diesel engine) - add that the frontal styling is comedy 'Robocop' sci-fi aggressive.

I WANT ONE! 300 HP 3.0 Diesel Engine! Impressive and for Law Inforcement. Perhaps we will see them in future films, Powersliding to crime scenes.

This is what ColinMcrae would refer to as having more buttons than a 747!!

The front bumper looks very safe for pedestrians.. :D And yeah, lots of buttons!

Carbon Motors must be a pseudonym for Renault ... what's with the logo being so similar ... or maybe they're just another cheap Chinese rip off company lol

Carbon Motors is an American company. They have mentioned that they have no plans to sell a version for civilian use. Also, when the vehicle is totalled or not fit for use, the company takes the cars back. I'm just as intrigued as most people about this car. I'm sure Car & Driver or Motortrend will be able to get a test drive in one.

Looks great... now can they ship it overseas with a British police livery? :D

I wouldn't worry about Motor Trend or other car magazines test driving. I'll eagerly be awaiting the Michigan State Patrol tests. Those are the ones you should look forward to.
Cheap knock off? No.

Caution: Fake. Very unrealistic concept with some "nice" 3D renderings. Looks like someone is begging for some investors money. They can not sell 10k units if they don't even have a prototype yet.
June 12, 2009 2:37 pm
Erm I think you will find that they DO have working prototypes ecause they toured america with them and thats probably why they've got 10000 orders.
June 13, 2009 11:51 am
Of course they can tour America with a prototype. There are even videos at Youtube. But look carefully at the car, its just a plastic mockup with some shiny LED lights and a PC inside. It just does not move. Similar to the Lightning GT.

So why are you saying Caution:Fake. when you yourself know it isn't?
June 16, 2009 9:47 am
There is a prototype out and about. The only issue is that the rumors are saying this will be much more expensive then the options from detroit. Also, as far as production, it's not like it will be hard to find a factory, just have to retool it.

I've always wondered why nobody has ever built a straight up Police car from the ground up. This looks right on the money. It's looking like that police car in Demolition Man.
June 12, 2009 4:35 pm
great, because its a small car maker, their cars will brake down all the time. (cross fingers)*
June 12, 2009 6:12 pm
Further proof that Americans, not the Big Three, can actually make cars useful and what people need and want to buy.
June 12, 2009 6:35 pm
Er.. I think you missed the point here. This car was built to be a police car, not a normal road car. You gotta be a police officer in the future to drive one! xD
June 12, 2009 9:55 pm
no i didn't, i know its a police car but i like it and i wish i can get a normal version one ^^ but surly i can't
June 12, 2009 11:43 pm
Why such an agressive looking car? Looks like an actionmovie prop. I thougth police was meant to serve and protect. This looks like an attack vehicle. A vehicle designed to be more service oriented would be much more appropriate.
June 14, 2009 8:02 am
i would like to see a two seater super quick super small cop car just for surveilance work, somewhere between the biker cop and car cop, like the hayabusa smart car lol
June 15, 2009 1:23 am
...Because the Police need more power. Can imagine how cocky someone behind the wheel of one of these will be.
