Here are some more real-life pictures of the 2010 Opel Astra in action following its media release only one week ago. Out there prowling the streets with zero camouflage and ready to take on the VW Golf, Peugeot 308, Renault Megane, and anything else the market can throw at it.
Now that Opel, after so many years behind the curve of the industry, has finally emerged as a brand with cutting-edge styling, its good news that there are so many interested buyers bidding on Adam Opel GmbH. If only to see what they will do in the future. A Fiat-Opel alliance does seem like a great and logical fit, set to rival the VW Group of brands.
The Opel Astra takes its place in Europe's largest and most competitive segment where no automaker is really giving any ground. High quality products are the standard and that is great for consumers. If you're out there shopping for a mid-sized hatchback, there is clearly no dearth of excellent options.
This Astra will be making its first public appearance in Frankfurt this September and coming to European dealerships in the fall of 2010.
