12 mill. for a car while more and more people are starving and can hardly make a living. i don`t care if it is rare or art or whatever, it is pure obscenity and a slap in the face of the disadvantaged.

In that case why dont you give any extra income you make and give it away to "starving" people?

The automotive industry is one of the purest examples of hardcore capitalism in the world; if you're concerned about the poor, you might have to reconsider being a petrol head. =P

This is the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard. Having the rich give all their money to the poor... I think we all know what ideology stems from that. People shouldn't be penalized for being rich. Working hard and earning a lot of money is a blessing, not a crime. Ridiculous.

When you have that much money you are ion the charity business. I am sure this guy has given a good amount of money off to charity. Even if he hasn't, he made the money, he made the sacrifices, and he can spend it any way he wants.

If more people think like catchmyshadow world would be a better place. Instead, we now pick the fruits (the crisis) of a bad managed capitalist society. There are frequent examples of rich guys owing very expensive goods (including cars) but who were proven to have stolen from other people's money or not having payed the taxes due to the public budget. Don't get me wrong, I lived both in communism and capitalism and I don't want to ever live again the communist experience. IMO, capitalism is bad and communism is worse. So a free market economy, but with more solidarity among people, would be desirable.

WCF: The rocker covers are red, hence "Testarossa." I've had the rare pleasure of seeing a TR59 in the metal up close and even saw it do a few laps around a local raceway. These machines are absolutely worth every million -- words will never do justice to describe the experience.

wrong information, the most expensive car ever sold was the Bugatti Royale for 10,000,000 Pounds (!) at auction in the UK in 1992.

Can you confirm that? Did a bit of Googling seeems that the Testa Rossa is the most expensive...

Why is that "too much" ? too much for you maybe, if a guy has 500 million in the bank, 12 million to him is the equivalent of you buying a new computer.

Of course there is no need that the car should be red. Testa Rossa only points to the valve covers, which are red.
