Why do they even bother? I mean, is there even a point for these cars? these are just X-overs between a Hatch and a off roader. The 2 don't really go together. Why not get one or the other?

different people, different needs, different economies, different perception of reality, etc.

if it would be better looking, they would sell more than the tiguan. so it must be uglier ;)

It looks like nothing more than a Fabia/Roomster on steroids. No defining features. And no, those stupid fog lamps don't count. The image is not helped by that euro-trash lounge music.

This is like a B-Segment Nissan Qashqai/Dualis. And for the sceptics, Skoda isn't a company which gives itself over to the defining of sectors, unlike its mother brand Volkswagen. Just look at the Roomster, Superb and Octavia. Neither have direct rivals, but they still sell and appeal to people with open minds.

Why is it so hard to understand? Are people really so dense as to not understand why somebody like me, who lives in a smallish town near the mountains, might want a car that's compact and efficient but which can carry skis, camping gear, kayaks, and the like? This is MORE useful than a hatch OR a big fuel-sucking SUV.

hey... wouldnt skoda make a case for itself as a low cost brand in the US? i mean, they have well built spacious cars with fuel sipping vw engines... sound perfect, doesnt it?

it makes perfect sense in eastern and central europe... the roads are poorly maintained and so an affordable practical locally made car seems a great idea
not pretty though- czechs have the most beautiful capital city in the world, some of the most beautiful girls... why not the most beautiful cars?
