Okay, i'll admit this press release is a bit rediclulous. But i think they say the mascot is easily removable so they can take it off when they park so it's not stolen. Not so they can flaunt it to their friends, thats what they have a set of Bentley keys for.

Hood ornaments don't belong on sports coupes. On top of that it doesn't even look like it'd be worth $1,000.

Doesn't Bentley already offer a "radiator figure" which looks like that? There are a couple Bentleys I know of that have a similar ornament.

Hood ornaments arent allowed on cars anymore, because in the event of a car crash, they would become as dangerous as a bullet. Thats why the Phantom has a retractable one, which automatically disappears when the car reaches a certain speed...

I've seen lots of Mercedes with hood ornaments, specially those which don't have the big 3-pointed star on the grille to be more precise. And I thought the retractable one on the Rolls Royce did just that to avoid being stolen. I don't think a hood ornament can cause any damage to anybody, not even in a crash. Most bullets travel faster than sound, how can they cause as much damage as one of these things, assuming it'll come off the hood if the car crashes at, let's say... 80mph?

They do indeed but at approx. EUR 3.500,- it is considerably more expensive. @zdenda20 Sorry but that's rubbish. Hood ornaments are still allowed as long as they are relatively flexible.

Arguably the best looking Bentley on sale with the most stupidest accessory... *it will direct the air to flow above the soft-top roof better as to minimise the noise in the luxurious cabin*
