180bhp is quite powerful for this type of car. Almost in Corsa VXR/RS Clio, and those are tough competitors. At least it has great looks to match the peformance!

i think it'll do better than the Clio, purely because it'll have more torque because of the turbocharging. from what i've read the Clio is too highly strung, and most ppl don't like wringing a car's neck to have fun, esp as it'll destroy the fuel economy and most ppl seem to care about that nowadays.

This car is very nice. Good power. Limited slip differential. I love it. Seat did a great job.

Agree with IKA595.I really hope and believe this would be a successful model for SEAT.Looks very nice and it's with VW technologies + DSG.Mito is a sharp looking car but will be more expensive and as pointed out VW is better than FIAT so there are good times ahead of SEAT.

You don't need a diesel. This engine is really efficient. On a golf it does just around 150g of CO2, when the diesel 2.0 TDI 170 bhp does 130!. Fuel economy is really similar. Performance Diesel is dead.

Can you see the "Cupra" logo inside the speedometer? What about that?
Ok, i?ve just seen that the Bocanegra will be a version of both Cupra and FR series, that?s why there are two motors (150 and 180 CV) available...

hmm letss see...yes to the above comments...perhaps more torque but a chassis I very much so DOUBT is better than Clios ( and Clio has an exceptional chassis to boot)and 20 hp down yeah sounds like it will be better than a clio...Yeah right...

The Ibiza not only carries the latest VW group's chassis for this segment but is also the first VAG car to do so : the Ibiza's chassis is shared with the next VW Polo and the future Audi A1 .
So either you 've confound it with the Skoda Fabia ( the Fabia mkII has indeed the previous Polo's chassis ) or it's all about an empathy (?...) .

The car with no any class if compare with Mito and Clio. And that from Ferrari taken position of 0- points at six 'a clock on Seat dashboards is really cheap. Lambo e.g. don't do it.

Only if you come from Italy you can tell the ugly bug-like-Mito classy. Furthermore Mito's interior looks like rubbish and very cheap . Not to forget that its components should be as reliable as all Fiats' ...
The Bocanegra looks more stylish, is much better built than the Mito ( the next VW Polo underneath ) and you can buy it at a significantly lower price than the expensive Mito , does it need any more thoughts ?

I am not from Italy and I am not French. But difference between design cultures of Da Silva's (Italian) and Renault or Gruppo Fiat is a fact. And yet: design culture is not a category of fabrication quality just like poetics is not a category of book printing or paper quality.

Well unfortunately for your logic and fortunately for the clientele, the Ibiza is the first production model designed entirely by Luc Donckerwolke.
Besides, I'd rather have a car that not only looks hot like this one does but also doesn't rust when I drive out the dealer lot like FIAT and/or Renault. Don't get me wrong, I do like the Mito and also the new Megane, but to throw a Clio in here is absolute nonsense.

Even though Seat is a subsiduary of VW, this cars design wipes the arse of the MK6 Golf's and Polo's. This is what VW should have done with their designs instead of going Jap-strapped. This car is surely one of the more exciting in the small to medium sized consumer models.

There is just no point in comparison, the Ibiza is definitely superior to the Mito and much more thane the poorly made clio, VW just place all the latest in tech goodies in most of its products.
I'm not a VAG fan but I do recognize a good car when I see it, and this is one great car. I drove the standard version of this one already and it drives really good, so I am really looking forward to this bocanegra version. =)

When it was introduced I was invited for a whole day to compare the normal models directly with other makes in its class such as Renault Clio, Peugeot 206, FIAT Punto, Suzuki Swift, Opel Corsa (this one was left out for the comparison as it was the OPC), Nissan Micra, Toyota Yaris, Daihatsu Sirion and VW Polo (old platform) on a closed safety training track, so also with ?-split and wet track. The only car that was as good and entertaining to drive like the Ibiza, was the Suzuki Swift, all others just plain su**ed. Even though we were not allowed to use the OPC on the track, we could go out on a street and I must say I was expecting it to be much more than it was. So sincerely, as soon as this model comes out by the end of this year, I will be the first to sit at the dealer and order it. I was looking to buy the normal Cupra but this is just what I was waiting for since I saw the Bocanegra concept in Geneva in 2008.

So is this car going to be cheaper than the cupra or more??? If it's cheaper then i think it will dent the sales of the cupra because it is so much better looking than the cupra.
