Features a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine

Rolls-Royce's 2010 Ghost has once again been spied undergoing testing ahead of its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Looking virtually identical to the 200EX concept that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, this particular test mule is sporting less camouflage which allows us to see the production front end, door handles and rear taillights.

While it many look a Phantom, the Rolls-Royce Ghost actually has more in common with BMW's 750Li. The Ghost features an all-new 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine with 400 kW (544 hp) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, as well as its eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Despite being Roll-Royce's entry level model, the Ghost comes in at massive 5399mm (212.6 inches) in length, 3295mm (129.7 inches) in wheelbase, 1948mm (76.7 inches) in width, and 1550mm (61 inches) in height.

Scheduled to go into production by the end of the year, the Ghost is expected to carry a base price of around £180,000 (US$257,000).

Should I win £110m on the Euro Lotto this weekend, I might just put my name down for one of these. And a Bristol Fighter T; a MINI Cooper S JCW; and a Land Rover Defender. :-)

Is that V12 TT related to the one in the 760i? (Nice car, btw)

Yes, it is the same engine despite the fact that it has 6.6 liter compared to 6.0 in the 760i. I´m not sure, but I believe the data in the article above deals with the specs of the 760i (544hp, 750NM). To my knowledge there are no official numbers out for the RR Ghost....

Why are they still testing it after they have officially revealed it?? Dont you do all the testing before the reveal??

this will just be final, pre production testing, and sometimes they set up the suspension and fine details for different markets. I like this car i just hope RR dont go overboard with variants of it

Definitely not worth the price. Should be in the range of the S600 or 760i, which i am sure are not £180K. Apart from that, beautiful design. Hope the rear circle brake lights are rubbed off because they make it look cheap, and less RR.

S600 go for £105K! Ghost should be priced at £150K max. Dont care how much they think the RR badge is worth, i'd choose a lot of other cars over this if i had to fork out £180K.

You forget that everything you can touch inside is made by hand and exclusive: you won't find knobs, buttons... from a C class in it.
