"I set you up on a blind date." "It's not with that X6, is it? She's pretty tough to look at." "No, it's with her slightly less ugly little sister, the 5-series GT." "Oh. I think I'm busy that night."

LOL! This is the Rover 820 for the 21st Century. Expect to see Alan Patridge in one with rude daubings down the side soon.

Stupid people with their stupid ideas, I hope this will be a big fail(like the R klasse) and BMW will lose millions, that will teach 'em to make real cars, not ugly mutants like this.

Honestly, how is this car "bridging" a gap as BMW likes to say? There is already a 5 Series Sedan, a 5 Series wagon, an X6 crossover/disaster and the X5. This car only seats 4 (as does the X6)...what the F**K is BMW thinking? In this economy, I cannot understand why they would tool an assembly line to produce this pointless piece of nothing. I am truly baffled!!

I also think this is a useless car, although it looks nice like all BMW's, whatever BMW made it will sell very good, they've got people's trust.

Wow, haters much? Has it occurred to anyone else that BMW's marketing and financial departments might be projecting into the future? The recession is going to end in a few years and the world will be back booming again (economic cycles), so if BMW has swathes of niche vehicles on the market by the time the boom starts again, they'll make a killing... This way they don't have to start work on prototyping niche vehicles when the boom starts, they'll have them rolling off the production lines just as the recession comes to a close. I may be entirely wrong, but it's the best explanation I can think of for BMW's sudden love of the niche market...

I love BMW and have owned several however this is awful. Bet the M version ends up looking good though, they always do! Reminds me of a Vauxhall cavalir or vectra hatchback ;o((

A smaller version of the X6? Just when I thought they couldn't get any worse, they come up with this. God help BMW man.

Look, I'm not a huge fan of the looks of this vehicle, but besides that, everything else about it makes a lot of sense. If you tried to create a vehicle that had most of the space of an SUV, but had zero offroad ability (which nobody really needs or uses) and therefore handled much better on the road, this is what you would come up with. Does it look beautiful? No. Do I give a flying flip? No. Does it get my family and all of our crap somewhere in comfort and is it fun as hell to drive? A BIG FAT HELL YEAH!

Ignore everything that world knows about cars and take a leak to the customer expectations or that crisis in your industry will end. Well done BMW, it is exactly this we don't need.

A very nice idea in a very ugly package (except maybe the long rear legroom which is not very useful for family purpose).

Trust me, it is -- try fitting an entire family of people over 6" in something the size of a 3 Series -- doesn't go well.

The point is that if you get this PAS, your otehr two will be sitting on eachother's laps instead of next to eachother because this bigger sized car is a 4 seater!

I've read it's going to be available as a 4 seater or 5 seater.

How many fo you guys has owned a BMW?, If you have not , buy one first and then make an informed opinion. You keep calling the x6 a monster. well let me tell you that BMW could not make them fast enough for dealers inventories. ( before the economic downturn) delaers were charging over MSRP and people payed. You had to wait 6 months to get one. I that is how a ugly cars sells god bless BMW.
