These are the first interior spy pictures of the 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS. A number of spy photos revealing certain aspects of the upcoming CLS have already been published, but these are the first to show parts of the front interior.

Most of what is revealed can be summed up in three words: typical Mercedes-Benz. The key hole is on the dashboard and the key is stuck into it. There may be a start/stop button as well but it seems the good old key is king on this specific prototype. The driver's seat-adjustment buttons are located on the door and are shaped like the seat in question. The sat nav system seems to be functional so there's nothing new on that front.

The upcoming CLS four-door coupe will aim to improve on the segment-pioneering work of the 2004 CLS which introduced the concept of two extra doors on a coupe-like shape in its market segment. Since then Porsche and Aston Martin have announced entrants too while Audi's competitor has been spied in testing and speculated to be shaped after the 2009 Sportback concept.

Although the shape of the tail light looks different but the headlight shape looks nice, I know this is a prototype. Anyways the body shape is still the same & that's good.

agreed, the new headlights will look great so long as theyre not the E class dual units (unlikely by the pics_.

by the looks of things a lot of the styling in the mid and rear of the car is yet to be defined

a slight reprofile at the rear (less banana!) and the cls will have the aggressive update to it's looks that it's needed for so long.

Very stylish car. Best looking sedan Mercedes makes. Shame they don't make one based on the C-Class...

ha, its the same interior as E klass, they could change something. still this is a CLS, this means that you again drive a eklass coupe.....

Surely by looking at the shape, it couldn't have changed much. I'm thinking a stretched E-class coupe here.

the CLS model is based on the E class and CL class (S coupe) if i can remember, it will be interesting to see what the new S coupe looks like and it will be some clue to the CLS, its one model i do like and think it looks hot.

Most people always talk of Merc designs as ugly, boring etc. bt when looking @ current C-class the design is sportier than most of its competitors! The CLS maybe a redressd E-class but its 1 of the best Mercs ever designed in this century_
