The standard model might show up in the US as a Buick. If you are wondering how the Insignia will look like as a Buick, check out the new Chinese market Buick Regal. Photo: http://img.worldcarfans.com/2008/11/large/chinese-market--2009-buick-regal.jpg

This car is SEX. It is exactly what this segment is missing. I really hope they've got enough under the hood to justify testing on the ring though...lol Good job!

I can't understand why they have put an elecronic speed limit. It's so stupid. The top speed was one of the greatest advantages of the Vectra OPC.This one has 4*4 a more power so it's going to be better. However I thing wihtout speed limit this Insignia would reach 270km/h which would be a sensational result for a family car.Opel are making a huge mistake putting this stupid ****!!!

It's part of an gentlemen's agreement between German automakers to limit their normal/family cars to 250Km/h. BMW, Audi, Mercedes and some other foreign brands limit the speed to 250 to avoid useless top speed fights in the market... to avoid general madness at the autobahn (some parts have no speed limit) and also avoid political radical decisions to end such "no speed limit" zones. GM until now didn't care much about the limit, but it's fair that Opel starts to use it now. It's a safety decision amd 250Km/h is already too fast for roads.

I´m not agree with you. The design of Insignia is awesome. And this version is even better. This car is a big progress for Opel.

I love it! Is like Opel is on a different planet than GM. This looks so awesome. I just hope they will be able to get out of this financial mess and continue whatever they are doing because they're on the right track.

The reason why we see so many Insignia articles is that it is the one of the most commented family car ever, drawing a lot of attraction, simply check the number of comments WCF receives about it. I heard that the wait list is over 80.000 units in Germany, which means over 3 months. I drove a standard 160hp diesel FWD, and the handling was excellent. Whether you like it or not, Insignia will rule for the next decade in Europe...

I also agree that Opel looks like being on a different planet than GM. And I also like the looks of this car a lot. But looks are not everything. Personally, I trust Mondeo, Accord or Passat CC more than an Opel badged model. Insignia might rule in its class, but for a couple of years only. Competition is not sleeping and new models will be launched very soon.

The Opel Insignia OPC has terrific attributes such as immense traction, predictable handling, and goblin-like mid range torque. Yet she's a little too heavy and thirsty, compared with the likes of Audi S4 and VW Passat R36. CO2 amount is also higher than these comparable Audis and VWs. She does fairly well against her formidable competitors from the Audi S4 to the Saab 9-5 2.8T to the parallel-imported Lexus IS350 in EU market, but her engine management system could be better! The Opel Insignia series(2008-2009 COTY) has been the top-seller in European D-segment(intermediate) market,so if this ultra-sonic OPC version becomes cleaner and more economical BMW and Mercedes should become serious about Opel!
