Aston Martin one-77 Unveiled at Concorso d’Eleganza

Boasts a 7.3-liter V12 engine

After several teasers and a mock introduction at the Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin has officially unveiled their highly anticipated One-77 supercar at the Concorso d'Eleganza in Lake Como, Italy.

Besides being shown for the first time in production trim, the gorgeous supercar was among one of eight entries up for the nomination of being voted the show's best concept and prototype. As expected, the One-77 ended up winning the prestigious Concorso d'Eleganza Design Award with more than 30% of the total votes cast.

The unveiling also marks our first glimpse of the new supercar's handcrafted interior which is loosely based on the DB9's cabin. A bold center console with premium metal accents dominates the cockpit as does the extensive use of carbon fiber trim. Elsewhere, the dash's contrasting pattern is echoed in the sports seats as they boast white leather upholstery with unique black mesh inserts.

Beneath the supercar's sexy hand-rolled aluminum exterior resides a massive 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces over 700 bhp. While official technical and performance data wasn't released, Aston has previously stated that the One-77 will likely weigh about 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs) and be able run from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 200 mph.

Conceived as an ultra-luxury road-going DTM style racer, the One-77 features a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis and an inboard double wishbone suspension with Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve damping. Other performance equipment on the supercar includes a six-speed robotized sequential manual gearbox, a dry-sump oil system, carbon ceramic brakes, and specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

At its world debut this weekend, the Aston Martin One-77 has won the Concorso d'Eleganza Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes on the shores of Lake Como, Italy.

Following the Geneva Auto Salon in March, where the technical illustration was first shown, the rolling chassis has since been completed by hand into the first car presented at Villa d'Este this weekend.

At its first public unveiling in the perfect setting of the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, the first complete One-77 was on show. Visiting public were invited to cast their vote for the best concept and prototype. Among eight entries from around the world, the Aston Martin One-77 was voted the best in class, eclipsing the competition with more than 30% of the total votes.

Admiring crowds viewed One-77 in its entirety for the first time. The car was showcased complete with running powertrain and the never seen before, fully hand-crafted interior.

Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez said: "Embodying everything Aston Martin stands for; the One-77 has proven itself as the most desirable automotive art form at its premiere today.

"We have achieved a new level of design and craftsmanship which has been clearly recognised by the public here in the homeland of design at Villa d'Este."

Aston Martin Design Director, Marek Reichman said: "To win this award at its first showing is a testament to the Aston Martin team and the original concept. Winning here today has proven One-77 as a benchmark in automotive design."

Shallow?? insecure??? your response actually revealed what you have attained in school. Or perhaps you were just another blinded merc fanatic lost in this comment. Either way you're an opposite of a being a winner. Make sure your mom knows what you're doing.

That's a pretty incoherent reply I would expect from a school kid! And very mature with the mom joke. As the founder of WCF, you're pretty far off by calling me a "blinded Merc fanatic." Surely you have a better response than that? Sit down for a few hours and craft something really witty. But first go create another email acct (because I'm banning your acct again) and lets see what you have to say. Sorry folks for taking it OT. Trolling really needs to be curbed.

Haah! No doubt! this is indeed the best and the most beautiful car in the world. The Bugatti has no comparison to this. The looks surpases any of the Ferraris or Porsches. And, If you put this one beside an SLR, you'd probably see a million(One-77) to 1(SLR) admirers........): A pretty girlfriend once said that when she sees a man who drives an Aston Martin, she sees him as an extremely gorgeous man who stands out in any crowd. A man with style and taste who really knows what he wants and truly understands what is called 'the best'. And she also said that, if she sees a man who drives a Merc, she sees him as man who is trying hard to prove something out of nothing. Dehydrated with style and taste. And whats worst but funny is she said, she sees him as a man below average(intellectually) with only slightly deeper pockets than the average. lol . Man, that hurts ! But somehow I agree with her. Well get a second opinion from your 'younger and pretty' girlfriends too !

Wow, BannedReviews that's a pretty shallow and insecure statement. Not sure, i'd be announcing something like that to the world. Says quite a lot about your character. Anyone who judges people by the car they drive is someone to stay far away from in my book.

The interior door panels are designed to mimic the outside of the car, which I think is interesting. Not $1M interesting, but interesting nonetheless.

Even though it looks good, the price is still over the top. And the DBS and V12 Vantage are much better looking, and cost a fraction of it. Not saying any of them are cheap though.

agree radmeister, the interior looks special but the exterior looks like a modded DBS a la Mansory or Hamann and not like a real supercar like Veyron, Enzo, Koenigsegg, Zonda etc.

I really don't think its a good looking car at all, is there something wrong with me? The DBS gives this a hiding in the looks department IMO and is still my favourite looking car.

The interior looks like a star trek but that front end looks little bit of 599 gtb & what's that hole under that grill? Maybe they should paint that car black & that grill is too shiny.
