Get used to cars designed in windtunnels with compromised styling in favor minimal wind resistance. That's why the Prius, Insight, and Clarity have nearly identical profiles.

@tbrodie
you know the new Mercedes E calss has an identical Cd 0.25 (or was it 0.26?) as the Prius?
...and does't look like either the Prius / Honda clan

It aint a work of art thats for sure, but that price is abit more reasonable thna the previous one...

I don't agree with You (Siawa) that is expensive (technology), but i definitely agree with you about the look of this car. its total disaster. Toyota have sales problem this days and i don't know why they play with their destiny!!! Why not attract more customers with better design. Not only for Prius but for almost every model they produced past years. Q(for Toyota): Want better market share in Europe? A(for everyone):- Make more desirable design(read:cars) (European way desirable not American or Toyota way desirable) and for that money they sell their cars in Europe we expect more built-in quality and better materials.

...or even the new (Euro) Focus diesel.
119g CO2 which means only 35GBP annual tax (Tags)
Depends where you live, obviously

Soccer moms only buy SUVs to bully other drivers.
They'll go for the Lexus RX hybrid

I've been looking around the city lately and i'm seeing more and more people buying priuses...nooooooo! But seriously though soccer moms where i live drive some of these, and so do *cough*gay guys*cough* and oddly, pimps are the only ones to drive these around. The reason pimps here drive around in these is "to sneak up on motherf*****s" lol

Uglius has just become cheaper. I always wonder why Toyota doesn't just stick to the bodywork of another of their models.

it's not that ugly, the front looks nice and i like the head lights, but the rear looks not that bad.

yea, for $10k ~ $20k more, line up @ GM dealers to place your order for the Volt to be release in 2011/12 (?) plus you get a "fake" grill that looks really nice...LOL
April 22, 2009 6:53 pm
Isn't the Volt an EV and not a Hybrid?
Runs off electric motors ONLY - uses gasoline to charge them.
April 22, 2009 8:06 pm
yea, but the point is, it's make more sense to have some gas-saving solution in less expensive way. i believe it's hardly find huge number of buyers for a $40k ~ $50k plug-in hybrid. not for the mass, but if people can afford a $40k~$50k vehicle, they're NOT looking for...er...Volt.

"...buying a Prius that is not a plug-in car does not allow any tax credits.
A Chevy Volt in the mid to upper 30 thousand range take off $7500 for government tax credit could very well cost the buyer less and likely be similarly equipped with creature comforts".

one major consideration is...potential buyer may step away from GM's quality & reliability issues... & it's "unsure" future. look at all the huge rebate offers for their current cars, can't even move them out from dealers lots!
