Diffusers legal says FIA appeal court
As was widely predicted, the FIA's International Court of Appeal on Wednesday said it decided to "deny the appeals" against controversial rear diffusers.
In a statement, and following an eight-hour hearing on Tuesday, the Paris body said the stewards had been "correct" to rule that the Brawn, Toyota and Williams cars were legal.
"Full reasons for this decision will be provided in due course," said the FIA.

Hopefully the other teams can copy the design ASAP (cant be that hard to do so) and then we will have a very even field!

This is great news! Well done to the Diffuser Three for spotting it. It will be interesting to see how the other teams perform with the same equipment.

Ross Brawn is a very clever person , if there is a way to make the car better he will do it.

YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAA!!!!
@ Zdenda20
For some teams it will be ok, but for others like Ferrari and Red Bull it's a big problem cause they have too redesign the back off the car(gearbox, diffusor, ...) i'm happy too see other teams in the front and i hope it will take time for the others to catch up(supporting Toyota for it's first win!) hope we can have trouble free season from now on.

I know...but im sure Ferrari and RB werent just sitting with their hands in their laps hoping that the ruling will be in their favor, im SURE they have something done already...but in a way, I think that this will even out the playing filed (the diffusor 3 will dominate now, but I foresee the field being leveled towards the middle of the season)! Bring on the next race!

This is brilliant, let battle commence!!!
I reckon McClaren will be in China on Sunday sporting a new diffuser and faster car, I bet most of the cars are already sat there waiting to be adapted based on this hearing.
I don't believe Ferrari would have waited until after the hearing to start developing this as there was alway sa very high chance that this would be legal given that these teams were in contact with the FIA preseason to clarify the regulations.
I'm interested to see how fast the new cars with Kers and diffusers will be, appreciated they are around 30kg heavier.

One can't help but wonder if the decision would have been any different had this particular diffuser been on the McLaren car....

as much as i admire the clever interpretation, there is no doubt that this new concept makes the cars a lot faster (something that the fia is constantly revising to keep f1 safe) the only thing is... if ferrari or mclaren had thought of it first would it still be legal?? i remember some pretty ugly add-on winglets over the years (ferrari in imola in about 03-04) that were technically legal but were still banned in the interest of the sport. i think that this diffuser issue will play out the year then be amended for next year anyway.
having said that, the year is certainly interesting with the 'midfield' outperforming and walking away with it.
