i like it, i read another article in which the head of vxr said the car was designed to take on the audi s4 and low bmw m range....bold aspirations i think. He did also say that when people drive the car they are going to be extremely surprised. I hope so i drove vectra vxr and god did that thing torque sterr and that didnt have over three hundred horses tearing at the wheels.

But the Vectra VXR was FWd only, right? This has four wheel drive. It's an impressive output. Given that Audis and BMWs are so plentiful now, there is a strange inverted snobbery about driving a Vauxhall or Ford, like you know something most people don't. I look forward to reading the reviews.

Love it, love it, love it. It's easily better looking than the Passat R36, not to mention more powerful. I get the feeling it will handle better too. This is a great effort at erasing that awful Vectra from people's minds. Now if Honda would be so kind as to release an Accord Type-R, Mazda a 6 MPS, and Ford - a Mondeo ST. Toyota? Well, we'll leave them out of this. Good job Ope.. I mean Vauxhall!

"The Insignia VXR will come as a 4-door sedan, 5-door hatch or Sports Tourer model." In America, we get superior products like the Chevrolet Impala. (Who are they kidding?) Europe getting this monster beauty while we get cars like the Impala. No wonder GM is on the verge of backruptcy. I really hope Opel/Vauxhall get split off from GM. They stand a much better chance for survival without the dead weight that the rest of the corp brings. BTW. Ship this baby over in the Touring package or maybe 5 door hatch. I'd also consider the same in the Ford Mondeos (Titanium X) if Ford would get off their duffs. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Euro Accord Touring (Euro Accord = US Acura TSX). If you couldn't tell, I'm very partial to Euro styled wagons/estates. I bought a Passat VR6 Estate in Oct and love the beast (No it's not the R36, we don't get that here. Wish we did because DSG tranny is amazing.)

Yeah the 135i does 0=60 over a second quicker and will probably cost closer to this car than say a 3 series rival. and the 135i is a hoot to drive

Sounds like the exact same setup as the Saab 9-3 Turbo-x, what will happen to this when GM gets rid of SAAB?

This just goes to show how much beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. The insignia strikes me as one of the most awkward and disjointed designs ever. I find it a visually appalling montage of a bunch of other cars. I can't figure out why WCF needs to find a new reason about every week to publish pictures of the bu..-.gly mutt. This thing should be given away at animal shelters, not sold at dealerships. This is just my opinion and it is no more right than those of the people who like the insomnia.

I?m one of those who like this car, but i accept your point of view... as we use to say in Spain, "Para gustos estan los colores"...

I know what you mean. The size of the nose has always got me, and neither do I think those side feature lines work so well. The back is also a bit awkward. I think we're all getting as excited as we are because it's such a monumental leap forward from the Vectra.

Once again, we Americans will probably be deprived of the good stuff like this car. GM was going to import the Insignia as the next Saturn Aura, but scratch Saturn. Just as we get the tepid old Ford Focus rather than the European version (like the amazing RS). Message to GM, Ford, and Chrysler--Americans don't just want SUVs and pickups. Get these good cars over here, and get 'em here fast before you go bankrupt.

Not 100% on those 'fang' air intakes, but overall a nice looking car. Engine sounds monstrous

Now Ford we want a MK4 Mondeo version of the superb ST220.....Maybe a ST340 with the current Ford/Volvo 3.2ltr twin turbo'ed. It would sell in small numbers but so did the ST220 but what a car that was
