Im really not liking the front of the new AMGs, its just too plain! But one thing im liking for sure is the new rear lights of the facelift S-Class, perfect! :)

I disagree. I also think it's a bit plain but I think it's for the better on the S-Class. It keeps it civilized, which is important because that's what an S-Class should be.

Er... better than before, but not my kinda car. what's the point of luxury saloons with such a huge amount of weight trying to be a supercar? Cars like the Evo, RS4 and M3 are fine, but this is pathetic.

What happened to the S55 for those of us that want an AMG variant but dont necessarily want the S63?
April 13, 2009 4:11 pm
even though theres no s55 for the current w221 s=class why would u want one? it was last seen on the w220 s and the diff was that it had a supercharged engine producing around 20hp less than the current s63. price wise i guess theyre very close as well.
this facelift tho is too bling. leds can make a car look worse. thank audi for starting the trend.

This smells fake: either somebody decided to do some private Photoshopping for the "rumor mill" or MB is to cheap to actually take different pictures of different cars instead of reusing the one picture and changing the color/rims....

dunno if it's just me, but that interior looks too much like an ordinary S Class interior. Gimme something a little more distinctive, and lose the horrible steering wheel. Other than that..I quite like the exterior styling

HOT!! Give me a white S63 with the black interior. Love the Q-stich on the door panels and the carbon fiber trim. Anyone who's seen an S63 knows what beasts these cars are. That's a 10!

I love the S-Class and the current AMG version but this one just isnt doing it for me - none of them really are.

This looks a bit crap compared to the C and E class AMG versions. The back end is bearable because of the exhausts and diffuser, but the front just looks tarted up like some cheap after-market tuner styled it. V lazy and lame for the company's flagship. Oh dear, does this mean the new CL (or S-class coupe) facelift will be as ugly? I hope not, that's my favourite Merc.

NO because they can't. They can build only "amazing" stuff like E30 and E36 "nuclear power" garbage called M40 ;). BMX lowers know what i am talking about ;). BMX LOSERS FOREVER..... ;)

I'll admit it's not so bad on a second look. But this is big daddy Merc we're talking about - it shouldn't need a second look to convince you. All I'm saying is when they're capable of styling beautiful cars like the C63 and E63 AMG (and I'm a BMW fan, so that's saying a lot), why be lazy with the S? This could be because the design of the S-class on the whole is getting a bit old compared to the sharper new models. But I think they've held back because AMG S-Class buyers are usually wealthy old businessmen (Unlike Quattroporte buyers who are wealthy young playboys) - so they had to be 'restrained' on the styling. It's too round, to bubbly. There are hundreds of ways it could have looked much better. Like sharper bumpers and side skirts all round. A nice three-slat grille with a big fat three-pointed star in the centre (they tried and failed this with the 65), a thick black splitter at the bottom of the front bumper (like the SL) and slightly more interesting LED fog lamps. And even you'll admit those million-spoke wheels on the pictured silver S63 are a bit too Fast-and-the-Furious for a Merc S-class. They shouldn't even be an option. I guess I'll just have to wait for the next-gen S-class and consequent AMG models to be satisfied.

This fat pig wouldnt see which way a Porsche Panamera went. Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series and Audi A* as so yesterday

Yep, I agree. No one can distinguish if the Porsche is going forward or backward with its lazy design chracteristics.
Also, the Porsche doesn't compete with these cars at all. Its a "four-door coupe", a market Mercedes first tapped into with the CLS. Compare the Porsche and CLS AMG, and its a no brainer. The CLS is faster, much better looking and is massively cool.

Rubish photos from Car Configurator on Mercedes-Benz site. I'm glad that Mercedes didn't cut off the V12 Biturbo as the rumours said.
