Next Generation Chrysler 300 Interior

Improved design, higher quality materials

During yesterday's unveiling of the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chrysler released their first official interior image of the next generation Chrysler 300.

Like the Grand Cherokee, the new 300's interior will likely be a huge improvement over the model it replaces. The dash is dominated by a large touch-screen display which resides above a wide multi-tiered center console. While the extensive use of fake wood trim borders on overkill, the higher quality materials help to create an elegant environment that will hopefully make Chrysler's past use of cheap plastics a distant memory.

Although information on the 2011 Chrysler 300 is still limited, we already got our first glimpse of the car's new exterior styling when the company presented their viability plan to the U.S. Treasury. Unlike the interior, the exterior features an evolutionary design which only boasts minor changes such as tighter lines, a revised grille, and reshaped headlights.

Power will likely come from Chrysler's new 280 hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine as well as a revised 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with at least 360 hp. The new V6 promises to offer a 22 percent improvement in fuel economy compared to the current 3.5-liter V6, this likely translates into a fuel economy rating of 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

from the looks of the shift gate, they're still gonna be using mercedes hardware

It's likely because they have no money to develop any new hardware or win the confidence of new suppliers; and also Daimler still owns about 20% if the company I recall.

It doesn't share anything with a W124, why would it look like it?

Not a fan of American cars. But, the interior is easy on the eyes and the exterior is still imposing. That may be enough to satisfy the average American car enthusiasts.

that interior is terrible, it doesnt look like an executive cars interior at all, they may be using hiher grade materials but the design makes it look cheap all on its own. And that wood....jesus thing is im a big fan of the current 300 and the whole of this car is just a big step in the wrong direction for an evolution of the 300 im sure they could have done a better job. they probably ran out of money though

Looks better than the current car. Much better. Maybe not class leading but certainly a cut above what we have right now.
