This will sound amazing, simplified mechanics, rear wheel drive, probably a little heavy....

it's as heavy as a 911 turbo ,it's more powerful than the Porsche and has better weight distribution. can't wait to see what this car will be capable of.

I can see some features of the interior that will be hard to transition over to RHD, but then we didn't get a Right Hand Drive SLR either. Sketches rarely look like the car in the metal/carbonfibre, so I'll wait to judge that aspect, but it is a pity to see no side-draught exhausts like the SLR has. I was hoping to see every car adopting them!

now this will be a huge bomb, if it will look like this... not sure about the GTR headlights though

I can't see much reason for the excitement re the interior. Looks pretty Merc plain to me. Most parts come straight off the A-Class. I like the gear knob though.

Yes, the interior is just not special enough..... Looks like a E-class with carbon fibre... Also the recent models of MB (S-class, E-class...) have really ugly sterring wheel!!

the design ethos of the car is an aircraft theme, during a design process you put your reference/inspiration in with your designs at the very early stages for when you present it to the team to start pulling together everyones ideas you show what gave you the inspiration, so when one design language is decided upon everyone knows from what the inspiration is taken. im guessing these are stage one design sketches from which the eventual design of the car was taken

Yes! this is one of the cars that will go down in history as one of the greats! I'm so excited to see it in production. Perfect. But as Carbonpower mentioned: I am concerned about the weight. Could be its downfall, as it has for many other super car merc's.

technically it's the first pure AMG car, not a Merc and it weighs 1620kg , the same as a Porsche 911 Turbo with Tiptronic.

The rear is fantastic(if slightly out of proportion),you can see the original Gullwing in it, yet its still modern. The front reminded me of a GTR Proto though and I wish Merc had a greater colour palette than different shades of black for the interior.

I like it. The design is bold. The interior is nice. Obviously, there will not be a manual gearbox which is a shame.

I still like the SLR better. Well this seem like its replacement, which means the SLR is going to become a classic very soon.

I am not sure the SLR will ever earn true classic status. It was considered a disaapointing showing by McLaren after the F1. They sell for much less used than they did new. That's not normally how true classics start their careers as classics.

this is the way should go, i mean the exterior design. SLR on the other hand looks completely out of portions in my eyes.

I'm not sold over the design, I guess that's the reason why Merc is teasing us with as many teasers and techno wizardry info to get as many downpayments prior to the official launch aside from the economic crisis. It would be a shame to get the design wrong since this is perhaps the most complete and dynamic sportscar made by Mercedes-AMG. Another thing that I always thought was that the design is not suitable for a proper sportscar with its very upright windshield, maybe this is one classic that need not be revisited.
