MG's parent company, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), has announced plans to introduce the new MG6 Concept at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show.
Based off the Roewe 550, the MG6 Concept will feature bold styling and a four-door coupe appearance despite the fact that it is a five-door hatchback. Among the key design aspects is an angular front-end with large air intakes, aggressive side sills, and a striking character line which runs from the front headlights to the rear taillights.
Although the company failed to provide a press release offering details on the concept, it seems likely that the MG6 will be powered by the turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine from the Roewe 550. The only thing that is clear is the fact that production is probably a top priority, considering that MG's lineup only consists of the TF roadster.
Stay tuned as we expect further details to be released soon.

kidding... i know times have changed, but maybe, just maybe, there would be a market share for average cars with a slightly bentley-ish personality!
