Skoda Superb Combi Mule Spied Again

Expected to debut as a 2010 model?

We haven't gotten much new information on the Skoda Superb Combi lately, but the vehicle is indeed still in the works.  New spy photos of a chassis-testing mule have just reached our hands.

Like the blue prototype caught testing last year, this silver car wears stretched Octavia bodywork, to hide its lengthened chassis and raised roof. The alloy wheels seen on this tester also hint at the more luxurious chassis underneath.

The Superb Combi will be the first estate wagon-type version of the Superb, and sources say that it will be equipped with luxury items to rival competition from Germany and Sweden. The chassis is the same length as that of the Superb, but a higher roof and cargo-friendly layout for the interior will offer more space inside. As the Superb's running gear is shared with the Volkswagen Passat, three petrol and three diesel engines are expected to be offered, ranging from a 105bhp 1.9 liter TDI to the top of the line 3.2 liter V6. The 296 hp (300 PS/221 kW) 3.6 liter VR6 is a possibility. A version of Volkswagen's DSG transmission may also be available.

Our sources are telling us the Skoda Superb Combi is expected to make its official debut this fall, and should go on sale in the spring of 2010. However, since this Superb is still in mule form, it seems doubtful we will see it that soon.

I think that this'll be a good car, I love the Superb sedan and if they do a good job of this i think that it will be fantastic. The only problem is that it is a Skoda, but they are building on their reputation.
