We get a peek inside the upcoming Aston Martin Rapid, replete with car-testing wiring strung about and a laptop computer.

Go ahead, have a look.

Now, let us do the recap, shall we?

The Aston Martin Rapide is yet another coupe/sedan that seats four and goes really, really fast. Depending on your point of view, you can credit Mercedes for re-starting this trend with the CLS back in 2004. Or you can blame them. Other upcoming competitors include the Audi A7 and the Porsche Panamera. True credit must go to Maserati, though, which has been building the Quattroporte 4-door sports coupe on and off since 1963. But those cars never looked like a regular sedan that got pulled out of a car crusher and put into a dealer showroom.

Engine? We can only speculate. A good possibility is that the Rapide will be fitted with Aston Martin's 4.7 liter V8 lifted out of the Vantage 420. The power plant comes with 420 hp and 470 Nm of torque.

Aston Martin is set to begin production later this year and hopes to churn out 2,000 units a year of the Rapide after they begin customer deliveries in early 2010.

Hey, somebody left their glasses on the center console. And who's mobile phone is that?

Doesn't it look like the Corvette's dash? I remember those guys blaming Corvette all the time for being boring and conservative, lets see what they got to say now...

Looks like a standard AM interior. I would rather have one of these than a Panamera. Plus i could actually spell the name without having to think about it

oh, way way.......way nicer than the Porsche PAINamera......this 4 dr coupe thing is all about style and comfort. Sorry Porsche, but ur PAINamera is truly a pain to look at! Granted that I've always loved Porsche, but for once, your good intentions of incorporating 'sports' DNA into every car is not going to make this car sell. I would bet that 99% of the owners that can afford to buy this kinda high priced 4-dr coupe usually own another nice coupe for the track. I would take this Aston or the Audi A7 anytime over the Porsche!!

Those indicator/wiper controls like suspiciously like the ones I have in my Ford Focus!

Sorry.. but attaching another set of doors to a DB9 doesn't make it sexier. The interior is standard Aston. This sedan looks way too feminine- I'd take a Quattroporte over this ANY day. And at this price point, look out for the new baby Rolls, the RR4! And the new Flying Spur coming up in 2011

Isn't the quattroporte just an "ugly" 4 door gran turismo to? ;)

i'll rather go for CLS63 AMG than the panamera and this repid, it's beautiful both from the exterior and the interior ,,, and also much cheaper.

if u want the best performing sports-sedan that the world has to offer then there is only one answer: panamera. if u want the best looking sports-sedan in the world there are plenty of others around as well, including this rapide.
