the more i hear about this car, the more i love it. shame it's being released at completely the wrong time

not necessarily the wrong time- the super-rich are still rich, and high end automobile sales remain extremely strong. The "recession" has only affected people outside the Rolls Royce bubble.

I concur, money doesn't just disappear. It just changes hands, and during most recessions more millionaires are made per capita.

Wow, look how cheap the carpet appears in the picture of the rear seats. Hmmm, I don't know about this one BMW... I'd bet money the engineering is spot-on, but, no one buys a Rolls for the engineering.

I like this car but the dashboard lets it down badly -- looks cheap.

Is it just me, or does the dashboard look like a well-trimmed version of the Chrysler 300's?

I sure hope it's more then 500hp! a turbo charged 6.6L should never get under 500. Actually, that seems like a very reminiscent engine to bmw's old 8 series

In this kind of car the HP is not nearly as important as torque, look at the Maybach, not crazy amounts of HP, but it has the torque to move a house. And that's what it needs because the car weighs as much as a house, this car will be over 5000lbs for sure.

torque doesn't matter much, a higher reving similarily powered car can get just as much force to the wheels if the gear ratios are set up right.

I think RR has learned from the mistake of putting the same engine in a Roller that you can find in a BMW. It's wahy no one touched the Silver Seraph and Bentley Arnage Green Label. It took VW putting the 6.75 litre V8 back in the Arnage as the Red Label to make anyone buy them again; BMW had to start from scratch with the Phantom.

BMW put the 12 from the previous 760 in the Phantom. I do believe this is a preview of the 12 that will be in the new 760. I can't see BMW putting in a 12 without boosting it, they don't really have a choice anymore.

Can we expect new 760i to have 5.5 liter V10? Than 4.4 V8, 5.5 V10 and 6.6 V12 would be shareing bore and stroke.

It should have been the Phantom. Its really good looking. I think its will steal S-class customers

I like how people comment on the cheapness of an interior...from photos. I further wonder how many of you have been up close to a RR or Bentley...they're crafted MUCH better than they were even a few years ago. My Jaguar S-type's leather is holding up better than a couple of Arnages I've seen in pre-owned showrooms.
