Alexander Antonov, the owner of Spyker, the Dutch supercar maker, has been shot and wounded in an attempt on his life in Moscow.
The Reuters story from last week, linked below, is based on reports from Russian news agencies. According to the ITAR-TASS and RIA Novosti news agencies, Antonov was shot on a street in the northwest part of the city last Wednesday morning (March 11th). RIA Novosti quotes a Russian investigator as saying that Antonov and his bodyguard are in intensive care. At least, as of a week ago.
Antonov is also the head of the Konvers Group, a Russian banking firm. According to the Reuters story, the website of the General Prosecutors' Investigative Committee claims that an "unidentified assailant" shot at Antonov and his bodyguard and that "criminal proceedings" had begun.
No news on the incident has yet been posted on the Spyker website. Several other websites have reported that Antonov was shot multiple times in the stomach and has lost a finger but that his wounds are not life-threatening.
