Why toyota even remains in f1 is a wonder to me. They have no sports cars so why even try to get a sporty image?

I agree. Lets hope when the recession eases off toyota will reconsider their sports car development.
I drive a toyota MR2 , I love their old sports cars, and rally inspired cars too. I'm disappointed by their current styling direction and yes lack of any sportiness in any of their current cars

Good they didn't axe the team - as I have been keeping my fingers crossed for them for quite a long time...

Things will change, the new president of Toyota is a huge race/sportscarfan he did the development of the IS-F an the LF-A which are the high performance cars from Lexus

yes, they should bring back the supra, which is already a legendary name by itself.
Even honda has axed it's NSX project. i hope they will get back to it after things gets a little better.
It's about continuing the legendary branding. Although LF-A and IS-F may make a name in the future as legendary cars(which i doubt so), they should continue legacy of supra, celica and stuffs too.
They need a car to compete with the GT-R in Japan.
