I don't like it, but this really shows the Koreans are getting better in the whole car making 'thing'

That's actually OK looking. I'd like to see a coupe as a poor mans CL...

quite a nice car, but the rims look like stolen from Bentley Continental...

response to arut4ararat:
i dont know how come you give so much hating on asian car makers, this is a fair play game, when you dont renew yourself , you are totally done like some american car makers. I dont see any problem with hyundai to make a luxury car if they can do it,about copying from others, try to look at new bmw series 7, back tail lights are taking from lexus LS, lamborghini diablo headlights are taking from nissan 300ZX .., i just want you to know, there are something better overall, please enjoy it
March 16, 2009 9:30 am
I would like to say that when the LS came out, lots of people noted that it looked like the previous generation 7-series... otherwise yes, you do have a point.

response to andy, I don't know what you are talking about, first of all I have nothing against asian cars, but they just cannot compete with european cars if they continue to copy them. european cars don't copy anyone. put a Lexus and a BMW next to each other and then look at them from very close, you will see the differences, BMW headlight is like a art work, compared to some other cars. Im a car designer with 15 years of experience and your telling me Diablo copied headlights , this is funny what you are saying, and what I am saying its obvious to anybody. The only and only original designed asian car is the nissan GTR. Other cars are just to fool people.

What are these copies of?
Nissan Figaro
Nissan Cube
Suzuki SJ410
Toyota MR2 (original)
Subaru Impreza
There are probably more...

Personally I'm fed up reading "this car company copy this and that" perhaps WCF should introduce the "copy cat" forums instead. You say asains always copy designs from europeans what about Kia Soul and No 3 Concept, Nissan Cube and Qasana Concept, (Micra replacement), Honda Jazz/Fit, Subaru upcoming leagacy are they not "orignal work of art" for you? And you say european never copy from anybody what about Renault Laguna Coupe design "pinched" from an Aston Martin? Citroen C5 "unmistakenly german" rear lights from BMW 3 series, but at least they are still a work of art right? Well that's up to you whether its art or not. Personally I think it normal nowaydays to see design resemblence or "copy cat" design so get use to it!

HEY .. relax everyone, it was just joke, I was trying to see how people respond to my comments, it was a college project, but thanks everyone. (HISCT)

Hm, combine the A8, with and S-Class and the BMW 7 and you get one of these strange vehicles
March 16, 2009 11:07 am
Thank you Floppy at least you see what i see.. Strange , unoriginal and CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP

arut4ararat, please stop acting like a 15 year old. it's not personal, but frankly, i'm done with some of you people behaving like schoolgirls fighting over which of the jonas brothers is the cutest: COME ON! people have different feelings about brand values, nationalities and design languages... so it's nice to share and discuss different points of view, but always behaving like the adult discerning men and women we are. i'm sorry, but i'm tired of reading narrow minded comments on 'how asians copy everything' or 'what a piece of crap koreans cars are' or 'bmw is better than mb/ mb is better than audi/ audi is better than bmw' or 'only german cars are worth something'. WAKE UP! it's 2009, it's a global market, with global resources, global suppliers, in a global recession... everybody's doing their very best and giving their very best shot.

well, after reading some angry comments from arut4arafat, i wonder had he just got firing from asian car companies or what?? 15 years experience for being a car designer like you doesnt mean you are smart and can over-mouth other people here, can you stop crying about how cheap asian cars are.. and european cars are the best,..blah blah..if you like to have a cheap fiat car, go ahead..
March 16, 2009 3:15 pm
i don't believe that arut4ararat is car designer for 15 years!! Cause, i'm actually car designer for couple of years and i'm from Art Center at Pasadena, CA. reading the comment of arut4ararat, you are definitely not in a car business, but a 15 year old kid from europe. wake up kid! just look around how asian cars are taking over the whole world when American and European cars are suffering!

I don't see how you people take each other so seriously. Nobody backs up their claims about quality, safety, and value.
Anyhow, the Eqqus is quite nice. WOuld like to see Hyunday branch off a new brand out here in the States with the Genesis cars and the Eqqus.
March 16, 2009 6:18 pm
Damn right politz: "it's 2009, it's a global market, with global resources, global suppliers, in a global recession... ".
Hyundai just wants to make a car that appeals to a market as broad as possible. If they wanted to make a wild new crazy design, they surely could: I'm sure they have designers of all possible nationalities over there, even YOURS...

Just read the article about Canadian Karim Habib leaving BMW for benz, that's what I meant in above comment.

I dont care what anyone says but i absolutely hate these piss brands. Take the KIA for an example with its interior panels put together using elmer's glue...
March 21, 2009 7:03 pm
Wow is that the new Maybach?
No but serious Hyundai needs to come up with there own styling...
