Our spies have acquired the first shots of the Fiat Grande Punto five-door facelift. Captured just a few weeks after the three-door was spied, the 5D was seen undergoing wintry condition road test in Northern Europe.
Like last time, very little has been covered up on this test vehicle, with the exception of some detailing around the grille and air intake at the front end. We're hoping for something interesting under that tape, because there is very little else different about the exterior, although the Italian flag detailing is a nice touch.
Unlike last time, we did not get any new photos of the freshened interior. Those pictures seemed to indicate the three-door would get a dual-section center console, with the sound system sticking out a few inches over the climate control. The photos also show individual gauges ringed in a chrome line, instead of the instrument panel currently seen. Of course, the dash was also held together with electrical tape, so this may not be the interior the facelift winds up with. That would be unfortunate, as these changes do help the car to stand out a bit.
Hopefully, we'll get official word soon on a release date for the updated Fiat Grande Punto.
