I'm wondering the same thing sub39h, wonder why they didnt use A8 platform on this gen as well. Even the D2 A8 already used ASF chassis, which i pressumed, would be lighter than Phaeton chassis. Maybe because Phaeton wasn't really a huge success, VW was trying to recover the money used in Phaeton development by using the chassis on Bentley? But I heard the VW Phaeton and Continental GT was developed together under the code VW611 and BY611. Could it be that VW themselves were skeptical about the Phaeton's success that they decided to develop the Bentley under the same platform? Just a theory. Can't wait to see the next gen Bentleys though, including the new Arnage series.
