See, it's not QUITE as simple as rollingup with a nameplate from the past. The MINI and Fiat 500 are doing well because they are stylish cars that stand out. Like the first Twingo was in fact. Renault needs to get that bit right again first.

Bristol411S3 is right! The old Gordinis were called that because they had special engines developed by mr. Gordini and were high performance versions of regular cars. The Renault 12 Gordini with it's 160bhp engine comes into mind.
All they want now is a cool name that "will offer a wide range of personalization features, as well as the familiar Gordini blue paint with white stripes and black alloy wheels." Where is the performance?! It must be the paint job or the cool black alloys...

In order to preserve the continuity of that crisis its nearby best solution. Second best will be to make a next generation hugely oversized poshy FWD saloon.
