35% of All Lamborghini Reventons up for Sale

Lamborghini Reventon

There's a bit of a noise regarding the listing of 7 Lamborghini Reventons on the JamesList online luxury goods catalogue. The online community is baffled as to why 35% of Reventons are now being listed as being on sale so soon after the super car went to market. Only 20 units of the dramatic Italian bull were produced, making it a prime prospect for investment purchasing. Off-the-factory pricing was a cool €1 million.

The cars that are being shafted by owners come from all over the world. One is from Dubai, two are from the US and four come from Germany. They range from €1,250,000 (about US$1.59 million) to €1,580,000, (US$2 million) depending on factors like mileage. So you bought it for one million bucks and are now selling it for one and a half times that. That's a nice tidy profit for 18 months of waiting.

A 6.5-litre 12-cylinder powerplant drives all of the Reventon's wheels with its 650hp (478kW) and 660Nm of torque. Lamborghini says it will rush from 0 - 100km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of over 340km/h.

or you could pay a fraction of the cost and buy a Murcielago, a car that Batman ACTUALLY drove in Batman Begins/The Dark Knight

Batman drives a Murcielago because it means "Bat" in Spanish :)

There selling them cause of the profit, the car really isnt that different from a LP640 it just looks crazyer and costs way to much I'd rather get a vayron or a Enzo. The car isnt worth that amount, but I will agree it does look amazing.

it's nothing but a re-styled LP640

Yep that's crisis.

scratchy996
March 10, 2009 10:28 PM
it's not about the crisis, they bought the car to sell it with a profit. like with the Ferrari Enzo.

i'm not arguing the fact that you pay for the exclusivity and not for the intrinsic value of this thing, but with far less money you can buy a LP 640 , go to any serious tuning firm(like Hamann) and make yourself an exact copy of a Reventon. and use the rest of the money to buy a house somewhere nice :)

indahead
March 10, 2009 11:23 PM
U cant make an exact copy...it has special pant, special bodykit and an interior that cannot be made by hamann-u can be sure of that...

scratchy996
March 11, 2009 2:07 AM
Hamann was just an example of a serious tuner company , there are others that can make the interiour and every paint can be copied today

scratchy996
March 11, 2009 2:20 AM
the "special bodykit" can be copied by any tuner that works with carbon fiber.

Crisis...people that shell out 1 mill for a car probably have (had) a lot of their assets in stocks...I am not surprised by this at all!

This car was delivered mostly during the crisis. These people most likely bought the Reventon as an investment with the intention to sell some time down the road for a significant profit, crisis or no crisis.

You people clearly don't understand the point of this car. First of all, 0-100 in 3.4 and top end of 348 is competitive to similarly priced cars, such as the Zonda F, the MC-12, and what was the Ferrari F60 (Enzo is it's nickname). You don't own this car because it's as fast as the Veyron (which it obviously is not), you own this car because it's a work of art. If you ask me, this is Warhol's "Green Car Crash" of the automotive world. It's unique, extremely rare, priceless, and it turns heads without fail. Comparing this car to one that is about 1/4 of the price is stupid because the two cars are different in the purposes they serve: the former is to be unique, the latter is to go fast.

we all understand that exclusivity has a price, that's not the point , the point is that this car is not so unique as it might seem cause it's just a different body for an existing car. it's not a homologation special like the MC12 or a unique car like the Ferrari P4/5, not even a tuned version like the Zonda F , its just a pimped LP 640.

Enzo was it's nickname? Try Enzo WAS it's name. F60 was placed NOWHERE on the car.

On a side-note, this should be Batman's joy-ride rather than the Tumbler...

I love this car, i only wish i was older and had the money to buy one

Screw stocks!!! buy one of these instead. You get to break the speed limit in first gear for 18 months, and then you get your cash. That's better than the discordant mess of the NY stock exchange hahaha. Sadly though, there are only 20 "shares" in the world.

If I had the money, I'd pay. I don't hate. You people saying "it's not worth the price" are clearly not in the market for one of those. They only made 20 because there's probably not a whole lot more people that are 1) serious car collectors/Lamborghini enthusiast 2) Have $1mil+ EU laying around

I mean, I know a guy that crashed his Enzo in the track and the next day had another one. didnt even bothering fixing his, said "ah thats nothing to lose sleep over". There ARE people that rich in this world

scratchy996
March 11, 2009 6:50 PM
that's not the point, anyone super rich that doesnt care about money could buy anything without even giving a damn about the price. look at some very exclusive cars : Veyron , Dauer 962, Jaguar XJ 220 , Aston Martin one 77 , those are unique cars because well, they are unique. the Reventon is just a rebodied Murcielago. If i were rich and stupid i would buy a Reventon cause it looks so sweet , but if i were rich with some common sense i would get a normal Murcielago and go to Rinspeed for example and let them make an exact copy of the Reventon for me. without the stupid LCD Display , i don't like that. After all , you pay for the exclusivity , in this case a body kit and some Alcantara inside.

March 11, 2009 8:29 PM
YOU are missing the point- the Reventon IS exclusive, theres only 20 made. Your argument is dumb-founded: "those are unique cars because well, they are unique." What exactly makes them unique and not the Reventon? Because you said so? LOL. You go ahead and buy a Murcielage and take it to Rinspeed... see if that doesnt cost MORE than buying a Reventon. Not to mention you probably COULDNT make a copy of that bodykit exactly. Not to mention the hit you'd take on a Murcielago's value with a fake Reventon body kit. Good luck trading that in. You dont like the LCD display- thats fine, but whats "stupid" about it? The car is expensive because it's unique. It's 1 out of 20. Much more so than a Veyron 1 out of 395. And your argument is completely flawed- why buy an Aston Marton one 77 when you can just buy a DBS and slap a body kit on it? FAIL!

sebfill55
March 11, 2009 9:09 PM
The aston martin one 77 is not a db body the reventon is a murci body. So taking an lp640 n turning it into a reventon would be pricey but the reventon was made as just something lambo could profit over n be like o look at our masterpiece. The car really isnt worth that 1.4 mil its got no functionality to it other than looking good.

scratchy996
March 12, 2009 2:45 AM
@ sebfill55 , you're right , 0ne 77 and the other cars i mentioned are unique because they are built from scratch as a exclusive car , not only a bodykit of an existing car. @ wickedated: chill, man, it's ok if you don't get it , no reason to get mad :)

sebfill55
March 12, 2009 5:02 AM
Im not mad just sayin the reventon is a good looking car n thats it really not worth the money I had an LP640 and that was well worth it for me I loved the way it looked, it was a show stopper no matter were I went even that it was black people still checked t out. I loved the looks really would never consider getting the reventon but thats me :)

scratchy996
March 12, 2009 11:26 AM
@ sebfill55 , the comment about getting mad was directed to wickedated :) i think the same way about the Reventon , i like the way it looks , but that is the only thing that separates it from the LP 640. also i hate you for having owned a Lambo :))

Dont hate scratchy996 it was short lived, the wounderful economy didnt let me enjoy the car but maybe one day I'll own another, n I'm hoping its soon I really did enjoy the car :).

that car is only bought for profit investments. or the looks is the next reason down. no one buys that for performance. because i can garrantee you none of them have gone past 100. but to be honest with that kinda money i would buy a Veyron

March 11, 2009 10:29 AM
If you bought one of these you probably already have a Veyron...

i prefer the detailing of this car to the murcielago but in terms of design, the muscielago is better and the gallardo more so.
