The new Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva International Motor Show. Granted most of those who want one will never afford it. But anyone who has access to the Internet will be able to appreciate its elegance and sport by clicking on this promotional video that was shot on location in Cape Town.
Maserati gives the option of a 6-speed ZF gearbox for the GT S to potential buyers who appreciate the synchronisation of a silky transmission to a roaring V8 engine. Thus mated with this smooth operator is a 4.7-litre V8 that makes a heady 440hp (324kW) along with 490Nm of torque. Sporty 20-inch wheels are part of the exterior treatment, as are sportier side sills and a revised continuously adjustable suspension system. The interior gets changes too but these are only minor.
