The truth is even masters of world business such as Bill Gates and Richard Branson can get it completely wrong (think of the Zune and Virgin Cola for instance). Perhaps the scale is not the same but when WCF gets it wrong it feels like a hurricane hit our offices. And so it was with the Ssangyong C200 spy story which turns out to be a 2010 Kia Sportage spy story. Fine, we blame the glare on the ice.
Seriously though, this is the heavily disguised 2010 Kia Sportage driving through snow in freezing Scandinavia. The car is to get a 6-speed automatic transmission to go with the 184hp (135kW) 2.0-litre turbo diesel R-engine. A V6 motor that runs on petrol is also being considered especially for markets that still demand increased engine capacity like the US. In many markets it will also come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Other vehicles expected to use the same powertrain are the 2010 Hyundai Tucson and one or two other Kia vehicles.
Kia has been building the compact SUV Sportage since 1995. Over the years it has grown in size and stature. Currently the second- generation of the Sportage is being sold in global markets. It has undergone a couple of facelifts since it went into production in 2005.
