i dont see the point in this. surely making it harder for the non podium winners in the ranking tables is going to make it into a clear top 3-5 race. why does the winning team need to be given more incentive/rewarded more - every teams main goal is to do as well as possible.

I think they should give points to those after 8th place as well, so that there would still be competition amongst the smaller teams. I mean, unless they do something like that, it would be pointless for teams like Force India to participate in the F1. However, if you don't finish the race, then you don't get any points.
