Tired of looking at all those white/black fully camouflaged Opel Meriva prototypes over the past year? Well, we can now show you that GM/Opel has managed to save enough money so they can afford some red color for this lightly camouflaged prototype.
Confirmed by our previous night shots we can see the shape of the front lights, and also for the first time the full shape of the rear lamps is visible and not covered with either camouflage or snow. We can also see the shape of the side body with a sweeping lower body character line lifted right from the Opel Insignia.
What we still can't see are the correct rear door handles. Opel is trying very hard to keep them concealed as this is a major feature for the mini MPV which distinguishes it from the competition. Once again, previous spy photos of a Meriva body-in-white showed the door handles at the front of the door confirming the rearward opening FlexDoor system displayed on the Meriva Concept exactly a year ago in Geneva.
However, as this year's Geneva motor show winds down, there is no Meriva debut. We guess the Meriva production version will take a bow at the Frankfurt motor show in September. In the meantime, we will do our very best to capture how the rear doors open before then.
