Sorry, but I dare to disagree with you. I completely agree that it is a good car, but when weighting the factors of looks, driving dynamics, sports car like handling, brand image, quality, build standards, price, practicality, technological advancements and fun factor, this little Audi cannot come close to BMW's Z4 nor Merc's SLK derivatives. Especilly BMW's Z4 and I can assure you that the M version will be far superio to this judging from both manfacturer's track records. IMHO, this hype for Audi's cars is just an over-reaction to the amazing progress that Audi is making during the past few years. Once somebody actually sits down and considers and logically compare the rivals from BMW and MB, people will realise that Audi is still far from the bechmark. But that'sjust my opnion

@TheKing Not once in your entire, drawn out, fanboy-riddled statement did you give one reason WHY the TTRS does not come close to the Z4 or SLK derivates in terms of: "looks, driving dynamics, sports car like handling, brand image, quality, build standards, price, practicality, technological advancements and fun factor" And really, looks, brand image, practicality, and fun factor are all COMPLETE matters of personal opinion. So half of what you said is not even relevant when trying to compare the TTRS to it's competition in an objective and tangible manner. I'll give you credit, it was in impressive attempt at discrediting this amazing car, but still just ignorant fanboy drivel.

I have to say the TT has came along away. I hated the car when it first came out, not I think it looks fantastic. Though I must add that this car give me the impression that it's the baby brother of the R8.

Hmm, nice car, but can audi make it small again? The car looks as if it's swollen, almost marshmellowy in proportions. You don't need it to be that big now do you?

I think this is the best looking Audi to date. I think they've nailed it on the looks with this car.

To me, this car is in the same design line as the VW Beetle and Fiat 500, that's putting aside the Audi badge. So why all of a sudden, it is perceived as something better? Well, I think it's becasue the four rings are on it. If people put 4 rings on the Polo, I wonder if they will think it is greater than the Polo. My point is, I don't like this design and it is complete rubbish to mount a huge engine in a shell like this (turtle?). Might as well put one in the beetle! Just before anyone cries bias in my comment, I would like to hint as you that the next A1 will be on the same platform of the VW Polo. That just says it all

here is why its considered better: Design wise i fail to see your comparison. Audi RS technology goes way past solely aesthetics. lets say for a second that they do look alike, a car's engineering status goes past the shape of the car, what lies underneath is what makes the machine not the shell. you have to realize for one that a 2.5L engine is not considered a large engine for an automobile. put into the equation an aluminum chassis (or part-off), magnetic suspension, Quattro system, aluminum body panels and 4 POT brakes and different manufacturing processes is whagt makes it better. the Fiat 500 or the Beetle does not have any of these key features. the A1 will be similar in size and class to a Polo but i assure you it will have better features, fit and finish than a polo.

@TheKing Again, more fanboy drivel from you. Rubbish to mount a huge engine in a shell like this? LOL. So what do you think of the SLK55 AMG? You used the SLK as an example of a superior car just a few comments above this, and the 55 AMG has a 5.5L V8. The TTRS has a 2.5L inline-5. The Audi's engine is less than high the size yet still makes it to 100k/h faster. Also, the A1 to polo comparison is completely irrelevant. The TT is now built on its own dedicated platform and no longer shares a base with any audi or volkswagen.

OK - I'm ready to get on the waiting list! Owned the first CaymanS in St. Louis and will have the first TTRS in Chicago. Can't wait till APR bumps it up to about 440HP.

Sorry, 6 is still better than 5 but that's my opinion although it still is a good looking car but Z4 wins hands down, for me anyway...
