As expected, the BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo concept debuted in Geneva on schedule. The Progressive Activity Sedan, as BMW calls it, is an idea conceived to fill a gap that BMW sees in the marketplace.

BMW has whipped out an interesting interior design in keeping with the car's delivery of a true "driving experience." The dual-tone white and tan interior feels clean and relaxing. This is augmented by the white headliner neatly placed above the 2+2 layout. The glass roof also makes this car feel more open. We also see LCD screens in place for the rear passengers.

Obviously, this is supposed to also convey BMW's level as a luxury goods provider. But this car also has elements of practicality. Rear seats fold down to provide 1650 liters of cargo space.

Details were not released on the car's power capabilities.

One thing has been made clear: if this car gets a positive response, it will most certainly go to production. Like the X-badged crossover vehicles, a successful BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo could lead to a 3-series GT as well.

I'd say it's more like a Pig with those pig nostrils. But it is a good idea and the headlights and taillights are nice....

can you imagine how cluttered the front will look after you put a numberplate on??? Don't these designers have brains?

Not impressive at all. Maybe in real life it'll look better but definitely not in these pics.

I take it back, I hate this car. BMW is flinging fresh turds at us and I was one of the people dumb enough to eat up their crap... where do I sign up for the Audi fan club? this is BS, I'm tired of defending them!

This car look like it's made from left over parts of the other beemers. 7-series (or 1's) nose, 5-series pillars and tail lights and a smooshed 6 series profile lol and why is it raised up? is it a cross over? i thought it suppose to be a sedan/coupe CLS clone?

Are these Hooydonk's designs? I thought that we'd see bangle's designs for a few years after he left because they keep designs to release them at a later date.

And those wanting Bangle back, look at the BMW Concept CS that was designed by Hooydonk.

Don't you bet on BMW designs becoming better, Adrian was actually the designer of the previous 7 series, which had that boot, which people mistakenly thought was from Bangle. I think he likes pig noses now, so let's change all BMW's names to PIGGY NOSE. instead of the old Bangle Butt.

Relatively good idea, especially the dual-mode opening boot "stolen" from the Skoda Superb. Some markets are strong requestors for 5-doors sedan like France.

But the design... I'd rather see a 3-series GT with Coupé front design and the back like this: http://www.motorauthority.com/preview-bmw-3-series-shooting-brake.html
