Now if you're going up against the Euro market, that's the proper way to do it. Seriously not a fan of that front end, though.

what's wrong with the front end? it's muscular, macho and aggressive! Serious if the Europeans don't dig this car, we Americans would love to take up all we can get!

Looks sexier than the One-77... on the fence about the Supra-esque interior, though.

what do u mean supra-esque? this interior is way upscale than the Supra's!

Brilliant, put a GT-R platform under it and I can see big trouble for the euro premium brands, because I will prefer this to a 6 series, Merc CL, Porsche 911, AudiR8, Maserati and the rest of the pack.

This is what would happen if the Nissan GT-R and its cousin the Infiniti G37 made incredible, passionate love for hours on end...

wrong again. This car makes 600PS*0.98632=591hp, which is 111 hp more than the base GT-R. Translation: it's way more powerful and faster than the GT-R. If the whole thing is made of carbon fiber like the Aston Martin One-77 or aluminum like the R8, you are looking at a supercar that can challenge the Audi R8! The R8 is a fantastic car because 85% of the power is sent to the rear wheels.

who the heck is this ghent2008 character? hahaha relax. it's GT-R with a tuxedo... which clearly means its far more luxurious and has more character in almost every possible way. just cuz he didn't say so doesn't mean he didn't mean what you just said lol. crazy WCF users these days haha

Wrong again! This is a $100k+ supercar, not a G Coupe!

The GT-R is already faster than the R8. this has a hybrid engine so the handling and speed would depend on its weight, also its rear wheel drive where the gt-r is all wheel drive so i couldn't see it going around a track faster maybe in a straight line?

GT-R is rear wheel drive under acceleration; thus is the beauty of ATTESA...

I have high hopes for this vehicle to make it into production. This will make the luxurious coupe competition much harder for german manufacturers like BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar in terms of sales I personally think. This vehicle represents the future of luxurious coupes and the design is well defined, especially with the help of Louis vuitton for the interior. Overall, this car is brings the full package in terms of design and I think its a good look for Infiniti.

@Decypha, The gt-rs are rear wheel drive unless the yaw sensor requires the front wheels to power, so under acceleration if it needs traction from the front wheels it will employ them, i know this because 10 years ago i owned a Skyline gt4t which had the attesa system also i have driven the skyline GT-R R32, R33 and R34 also the pulsar gtir which also uses the attesa all wheel drive system.

C&D didn't like the transmission either. I suggest they swap in any decent 6 speed with proper gearing into it.

First, I have an old 97 Lexus ES300, and today I was looking at several new Lexii in the showroom, and was dissapointed. The fact is, the plastics in my old Lex are softer, with a rubberized feel, lower sheen, and less grainyness than the newest ES300? So, what gives? Well IMO the only Lexus with serious thrill-power is teh LS430, it is covered in serious kit, in and out. What makes me sad is what I saw today tells me Lexus will not win the long and fun battle with cross-town rival Infiniti because they are coasting on Badge-appeal, instead of real skill, giving all the good stuff to the LS430 and dressing up Toyota parts for the other cars. One exception is the cheapest Lexus, the IS330, it is better resolved and uses better materials than the very brand-new Lexus RX. That said, this Infiniti is beautiful, in the binnacle photo there's a nice nod to the US, the navi is pointing toward Detroit. A very subtle way of keeping the States in mind perhaps? Or are they telling us this beauty is going to arrive on our shores soon? Either way, it is well resolved, the interior is superb, the guages are futuristic without looking ill-proportioned (IE Current Civic), and I like how the signature clock is retained, breaking up the surface volumes of the dash. My take, refine the shoulder line, and fine tune the non-Hoffmeister kink to a slightly more balanced or centered form and it's a go. Oh, one last thought, the wheels look derivative, I'd say add volume to them with clean, articulate patterns, and a lustrous sheen to complement the body, let the trim be the sparkle, maybe even use kevlar or carbon fiber in the wheels to build some black contrast into the shapes. As for the cross-town rivalry, it is interesting to note that whatever they call it, (Lexus calls it L-Finesse) both Lexus and Infiniti are doing a similar treatment to their cars, but Infiniti is doing a better job. So what does it all mean? Who knows, but my guess is we can ask Lexus how they feel about 2nd place when these two brands meet for their 30 year celebration. Nice work Infiniti, nice work! Drive on people, drive on!

Only lexus with serious thrill-power is the LS430? Ya...right. IS-F. 5.0L V8 making 420~hp and slick as hell 8 speed gearbox, THAT's thrill power.

 joshg_5 joshg_5
That 8-Speed transmission has been noted as the ruining of the IS-F. Such a shame...
