Bugatti hosted an early press preview event where they showcased yet another special edition of their legendary Veyron supercar ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The new version is called the Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire and it celebrates the brand's 100th anniversary. (Bleu Centenaire translates into "Blue Centennial")

Although little is known about the new Bleu Centenaire, it appears that previous reports suggesting the car would have a substantial increase in power were greatly exaggerated. Instead, power will continue to be provided by the standard car's 16 cylinder quad turbocharged 8.0-liter engine which produces 1001 hp and 1250 Nm of torque.

As with previous special editions, such as the Sang Noir and Fbg par Hermes, the new Bleu Centenaire features a unique exterior which adds an exclusive paint scheme, mesh grille inserts, and bright aluminum mirrors. The new limited edition should also receive some minor interior updates such as exclusive leather colors and trim, but nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet.

With the combined production total of the Veryon and the Veryon Grand Sport quickly reaching the 300 unit mark, the Bleu Centenaire will probably be one of the last special editions to be produced.

Look for more information and pictures to be released when Bugatti officially debuts the new Veyron Bleu Centenaire later today.

Classic Bugatti Blue it might be (French Racing Blue?), but matte and gloss finish is terrible and has no place on a car like this.

The colour looks like it's home painted

I like the color itself, however mixing gloss and matte is usually very unfortunate, except maybe matte black stripes on a glossy Ford Mustang or Porsche Cayman S Design Edition 1.

The matte finish ruins the blue. And technically you can spec a standard Veyron with that paint - they even showed it on an episode of 5th Gear - so if you're paying extra for this, what's it for? I'm sure they have sparrow skin instead of leather on the upholstery. And those silver mirrors make it look like an Audi RS model - which is tacky for a Veyron. Consolation? At least they've put the cool headlights from the convertible on the coupe finally!

Yeah it looks like it has the updated headlights from the Grand Sport (Targa Top) version... which I think are alot better looking than the original lights!
