Renault's marketing plans for its new Mégane Grandtour are at an advanced stage. Spied here are pictures of the vehicle during a marketing video shoot, presumably for an advertising campaign in which the Grandtour is the centre of attraction. The commercial is being shot in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Mégane wagon joins the hatchback and coupe models in the series and may be the third of four versions that eventually include a sedan. Its styling closely resembles that of the hatch on the front end but features a distinctive rear end with split tail lights. The roofline slopes steadily towards the back to show the car's dynamic ambitions.
Under the bonnet a variety of engines will be found. Petrol derivatives will include a 1.6-litre unit making 100hp (74kW) and 110hp (81kW). The naturally aspirated 2.0-litre produces 140hp (103kW), a 1.4TCe will give out 130hp (96kW) while the turbocharged 2.0TCe makes 180hp (132kW).
On the diesel menu power outputs should range from 85hp (63kW) right up to 160hp (118kW). The Mégane Grandtour is show-ready and will make its world debut at Geneva next week.
