Hmm, bad news again, after the Nissan Silvia replacer, now this, I guess that the Hyundai Coupe is celebrating right now, and that's a sad thing 4 us.

That's a shame its been a while since Toyota and Subaru have developed a sportier car. the last Subaru brought out was the 1991-1997 Alcyone SVW with a 3.3l flat 6cly producing 230hp with all wheel drive and a top speed of 293km/h, it was a heavy girl at 1624kgs wasn't very pleasant on the eye either.

The loss of any RWD boxer option is sad, even one with the potential to be as mundanely styled as most recent Toyotas. There is one school of thought about going into a recession that few manufacturers seem to be following today. This philosophy is that in a recession you need to make your product line even more desirable. Donald Peterson was a proponent of this when he was at Ford. He talked about recessions putting more need on increasing market share since the overall market was smaller. He also expressed that having a good product line put companies at a big advantage when coming out of the recession started to increase overall automobile sales. During Peterson's reign Ford posted very large profits and greatly increased their market share against there fellow domestics.
