Porschephiles are well aware of this. Porsche has always held loyalty as a core value. That is, design-wise, a porsche always looked like a porsche and always will, any porsche whether designed fifty years ago or fifty years from now will always be instantly recognized as a porsche. As for mechanical design, the same holds true, the 911 has been in the lineup for 40 years and will be for forty more, always bringing the traits that make it such a special car, i.e. a rear-engined sports car powered by a horizontaly opposed six cylinder boxer. Thank god for porsche and loyalty, this gracefuly evolved, timeless sports car has been with us for so long and owning one is more than just owning a hunk of metal and bolts, it's owning a peice of that history.
