A limited edition of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is headed for Europe, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. The 1,000 units in the European production run will have a price of about €25,000.

Hyundai Product Marketing manager Rafael Agullo says that although the company will not make a profit on the vehicles sold in Europe Hyundai believes having a Genesis Coupe presence in Europe is good for their image.

"We choose a fixed number with a fixed price. In Germany the car costs 25,000 euros, which is significantly less than the 38,000 euro cost Nissan 350Z," he told the newspaper.

It also appears that all thousand units will have the base, more fuel efficient engine. That engine is a 210 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder. When using that engine, the Genesis Coupe gets 21 mpg in the city, and 30 mpg on the highway. The car is also sold in the United States with a 310 hp 3.8-liter V6. With this engine it gets 17/26 mpg.

We're not sure just yet when the car will go on sale in Europe. Since it will be sold in the EU, we would not be surprised to see the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show.

I don't get the target demographic for this car. I thought it was a luxury car. Why do they keep showing it drifting? It's nothing new, just a rwd tiburon.

Renegade, unfortunately this car is sporty, and also great value for money. The only turkey here is you.

Whatever, u Hyundai fan boy, but if u ask me, people will prefer a 1-2 years old 350Z then this or an used RX-8.

Now that is a professional statement. Be proud of yourself boy! You seem to know nothing about cars, because there is no other excuse for this ignorant comment. Even if you have a negative opinion, try to put some facts behind it! Hyundai are very good cars from my experience. And they are getting better and better. And the proof is the growth in sales in the US for January - 14% up (if I'm not wrong) while everybody else is down!

The 3.8L V6 is abit too big for my liking and the 2.0L turbo engine lacks the power that I was looking for. But you can always have a Z or RX8

I like it. It is on top of my purchase list. it's got that value-for-money proposition. As a consumer, I'm glad that Hyundai is offering this performance car at such an affordable price. For much less money, I can now buy and enjoy a sports car loaded with lots of the goodies. Now, that's a good buy. Thanks, Hyundai!

I just bought a GT 2.0T, nothing like a tiburon, more like a cross between a type R (intergra) (which I have) and a 911 (which i've owned 2 of RS and Carrera).Don't laugh, Car is well sorted from factory, no understeer, incredible fit/finish and instant throttle response unlike 2008 Cayman (not S).

I want one so much! Couldn't care less about the badge, it looks really good. I'm told that it's been designed by an international team at Hyundai California, but I can see some influences from Pininfarina. Calling it a copy of some Japanese or (laughingly) an American car is ridiculous. Might as well say that the Alfa Romeo 8C is a copy of a 1970's Datsun! :) I guess why they keep showing it drifting is to show off the fantastic control you get with a fully independent rear suspension/limited slip diffs.
